Endorsment from Nskjnv (talk) edit

Telugu Wikipedia is marching towards achieving the mark of 1 lakh articles. The Wiki has crossed 80k plus articles by early December. The Community needs more volunteers to take this forward. I see this project helps in building content and encouraging & supporting new users to contribute. The topic of the project - Languages is paramount as we are witnessing the endangerment crisis for Different languages, this project could serve us in bringing under-represented topics around languages and bridging the gap of/about these languages on Wikimedia platforms. I also see this campaign can be a global initiative like WPWP/WAM/SheSaid etc, and the project can serve as a pilot model for working on this topic. Therefore, I totally endorse this grant. Initial suggestions from the South Asia Regional Funds Committee edit

@MYADAM ABHILASH: Please find below some initial observations from the South Asia Regional Funds Committee regarding the proposal:

We would like to know if there is any past precedent / inspiration for this project? Knowledge about “world languages” is a great concept and idea but also very ambitious; so we would like to know which languages (as an example) and what are the expectations from participants of such an event? Is there also an example of a “good article” that serves as a benchmark for new & existing editors? Such an article should be available in Telugu and should also receive community consensus before being applied at such a scale.

Is there a justification for a physical event? (like why is it absolutely necessary, is the expense justified, etc.).

We would like to work in close coordination with your team to assess budget requirements? Example : having a participation form indicating participation preference (online / offline); see the response to the first online session (number of participants; number of articles, etc) and then plan a budget for the physical event?

In case it can be of help, I am happy to meet with you online and explain these recommendations in detail.
