edit- After studying the request it looks like the project is very well-conceived and seems that every aspect has been considerably taken into account. Having already partnerships with relevant institutions and other Wikimedia chapters only supports my opinion. Good luck!--Kiril Simeonovski (talk) 16:23, 4 May 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks Kiril, we will need all the luck we can muster. --Thuvack (talk) 20:48, 5 May 2013 (UTC)

editHello! Thanks for putting up this. A few remarks from me.
- For the sake of grasping the actual costs of each line, would you mind putting the € or US$ equivalent in the budget (per line). I know we all live with different currency, but I believe most of us get a better feeling of what costs what when expressed in a more "widely spread" currency. ;) and it's easier not to get daunted by currencies like the Rand which tend to jump to the thousands and look scary right away. :P
- Done. --Thuvack (talk) 20:47, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
- I am not sure I see the link between the QR codes and the editathons. Will Editathons revolve around editing Wikipedia around Heritage sites with a QR code? Or are they just general editathons?
- The editathons will be modelled as both, to show heritage enthusiasts who are knowledged about the buildings, how to edit the relevant Wikipedia page as well as allow any new comer to learn how to edit Wikipedia in their own language. --Thuvack (talk) 20:47, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
- Two editathons a month is quite a lot, are these already planned? Do you have the human resources for those? Are details with the hosting organisations.locations already taken care of (ie. available space and all)? Just thinking that this is quite a toll on volunteers for a 2 months period.
- Yes these are already planned with both CoJ and JHF. Furthermore it will span three months with project leads taking turns to organise. --Thuvack (talk) 20:47, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
- What does Project management entail? You say "Compensation to project coordinators and Support team for time required during working hours." but I'm not sure this makes it clearer to me. Thanks for clarifying.
- Project leads and volunteers are fulltime employed and will need to take in most cases unpaid leave off work to meet with CoJ and JHF officials to finalise agreements and other plans. They need to be compensated for this. --Thuvack (talk) 20:47, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
- This is still not very clear to me. Is that a salary of sorts? Is it just that all their costs are taken care of? Are you paying them a per diem thing which is tailored to their actual salary (such as "1 day of working for XXX would bring XXX$) ? How is this filed in "accounting" terms? Are you just handing them the money like that? Mind you, my question is not about the amount, which is reasonable, it's about the actual implementation of this compensation. I am not familiar with non-profit accounting practices in SA, but I'm sure you can't hand money to someone "just like this" in Germany or France for example, you'd need a receipt of sorts. notafish }<';> 09:36, 17 May 2013 (UTC)
- For Accounting purposes it will be viewed as a "Salary". The project leads/Managers (and indeed any volunteer) will have to invoice WMZA for this. The payment will not happen without this invoice. It is required by our revenue laws.--Thuvack (talk) 09:01, 20 May 2013 (UTC)

- You break down competition pamphlets for each event. A practical question here, are those all the same or are they "localized" for each event?
- At the moment they are the same, there is however a discussion to localise these to events, this option will be explored. --Thuvack (talk) 20:47, 5 May 2013 (UTC)

Supporting or not supporting
editMay I ask to the two GAC members who are in "GAC members who have read, studied and concluded their assessment (of) the proposal" to define clearly if they support or not the grant? There is an unclear position of them. --Ilario (talk) 18:01, 7 June 2013 (UTC)
