Contacts edit

Thanks for the submission. You have my support on your program for 2012, but what is the current status of your contacts with the francophone institutions? Do you plan to include some of them to co-host any of the planned projects? Best regards.--Kiril Simeonovski (talk) 20:09, 30 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your support Kiril and quick response. We are very excited about our program plan in Quebec for 2012 and your support means a great deal to us. Without these funds, it would be extremely difficult for us to execute our aggressive schedule this year. To answer your question, yes, we are coordinating with other groups on our events where possible. In some cases discussions and coordinated planning have been taking place for several months. We have forged financial partnerships to attend as a supporting participants rather than host the events ourselves where possible. For example, Forum mondial de la langue française (5 days) @ $2250, you will note we have no facility or large guest travel costs. Alan.ca (talk) 02:07, 31 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Budget breakdown edit

Is the conference fee ($650 & $2250) per person? Abbasjnr (talk) 18:23, 31 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

No, these are the totals for all speakers, for all the days of conferences. Benoit Rochon (talk) 16:14, 1 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
How many speakers? I think it would be nice of you to indicate, in the budget, both the unit cost and the total cost for an item.Abbasjnr (talk) 07:19, 4 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your interest in our grant request. We are very proud of our program plan for 2012 in Quebec. For the International Scientific Conference on ICT and Education we are sponsoring 3 guests for 2 days. For the Forum mondial de la langue française we are sponsoring 5 guests for 5 days.Alan.ca (talk) 01:56, 6 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
We have a list that we're working with already for the aforementioned events. However, we have a backstage tour planned at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto on Jun 8 where the guest list has not yet been made. The ROM event is not tied to this grant, but we're always welcoming additional help. If you have any ideas on how we could develop that list of 30 people, I would welcome your help. We're looking to target local people for that event as the ROM is hoping to initiate engagement with the local Wikipedia community. One suggestion we received was to hold a Toronto meet up 1 month before the actual event to get a sense who is active in the local community. Alan.ca (talk) 15:33, 6 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
