Thank you for your proposal.
Since the funds you are requesting are going to sponsor the participation of your keynote speaker, Anu Uduwage, might you include a few additional details about her expertise and why having her participate is important to the success of your event in your proposal?
Also, for the record, I support the notion that these travel estimates are reasonable based on my own experience and seem consistent with WMF's travel policy.

For me it is also not clear, why do you want to invite this particiular person. I was trying to google some information about Anu, but the only thing I have found is this: [1]. As I understand the general idea of the meeting and support it - I don't know why do you have to invite Anu, and his/her relation to the topic of the meeting... Thanks for the submission. My concern is the same as per above regarding the pointed person. Can you give more details about the tracks of the conference and how this person would enrich it? - I'm Lila Pagola, from Wikimedia Argentina and working in the program of WikiGénero. Anuradha Uduwage is the person chosen by the Group Lens Team for representing them in our meeting. Group Lens are the research team of University of Minnessota responsible for one the most complete studies we know about gender gap in Wikipedia: "WP:Clubhouse? An Exploration of Wikipedia’s Gender Imbalance". We have contacted John Riedl and Aaron Halfaker, via Zack Exley, and they thought that Anu was the best person for coming to WikiGénero, because: "Anu was the second author on our paper[1], and is very knowledgeable about our methods and results", in verbatim words of John Riedl. Anu's curriculum could be found at: http://nomade.org.ar/wikimedia/Anuradha_Uduwage_Resume.pdf Sorry that we forgot to include it in the Grant, my fault. Regarding perdiem amount, Kiril, we think is an minimum amount for covering meals in Argentina, just in order to not generating extra-costs to the person, since we are not offering any fee for the talk. Of course it's possible to remove them, and maybe Wikimedia Argentina can afford them in other way. - I agree that the grant should have been about why Anu is the best person to be invited, which is well explained in the Lpagoda's post above. But Wikimedia Movement is not a bureaucracy, so I think this explanation is sufficient to allocate the requested funds.Victoria (talk) 15:02, 15 April 2012 (UTC)

- We prefer keeping this grant as a separate one, because Anu is not attending WWC, he is attending just WikiGénero. The other reason is that we do not want to wait for too long because of flight prices. If we could keep it this way, this will be much better for us.
