use FormWizard
editHey there Another Believer. Jeph_paul, I_JethroBT and I are currently trying to get the FormWizard gadget enabled on English Wikipedia (see proposal) in the Wikipedia namespace. Progress has been slow, but at this point it looks like it will happen :) It should be possible to do what you describe using that gadget, if we can set it up on the central Wikipedia:Meetups hub. The process would be similar to the process of creating an IdeaLab idea: create a page with an infobox and a few basic page sections. Categories can be added based on options the user selects using the wizard. I'm happy to help with this at a hackathon (EGalvez (WMF)'s suggestion), or at an upcoming Cascadia meetup. Grant idea?
edit@Another Believer and Olivettilly: Hey there! I wanted to check in to see if any work had been done on this at the hackathon mentioned above, and if not, if there is still any interest in developing this idea into a grant proposal. There is a clearly a lot of support for the idea and speaking from personal experience, setting up meetup pages is indeed very time consuming! As Jmorgan (WMF) mentioned above, FormWizard is now active on the English Wikipedia, and working well at generating new pages, so that would be a great system to use here. Let me know if you're interested-- the deadline for Individual Engagement Grants is tomorrow, so if you have time to develop this idea a little more, let me know. I've added some handy buttons down at the bottom of the idea page to help you get started. :) I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 16:00, 28 September 2015 (UTC)
- @I JethroBT (WMF): Thanks for taking a look at this proposal. I appreciate your suggestion, but I don't really know how to move this project forward, grant-funded or otherwise, and I definitely don't have time to put something together by tomorrow. -Another Believer (talk) 16:06, 28 September 2015 (UTC)
