Did you meet your goals? Are you happy with how the project went?
Yes i can be able to meet up the goals for the all plans i planed for the project. I have planed to run the project before Eid Al-adha break, but unfortunately was failed due to the disbursement delay. Except for the number of articles created and improved [[1]] my target was failed due to the participants that were not be able to create, edit or improve articles. But in the future event since this is just the beginning, i will put more effort to train the participants and give them much more attention.

Learning edit

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

  • What worked well?
  • What did not work so well?
  • What would you do differently next time?

I hosted the event in Kadahive hub because the KADUNA Polytechnic did accept comply with my request financially due to the computer Lab I wanted to use to train the participants. But thank God I shifted the venue to kadahive hub and hosted my events their. The school did not notify me in time that this is what I should pay until the late days. And the money is too high that I can't afford according to my budget. Some pictures :

My Answers: edit

  • The project worked well from my personal plans for the projects, the venue, refreshments, training delivery, participation, devices and much more.
  • Participants online activities outcomes, some of the new user were not be able to create account likewise of editing wikipedia pages because the event in the day 2 i.e training (hands on practicals) day, the participants came late and we began in the late hours and such thing happened at the result of african-time by the participants.
  • In my future projects, i will increase the day of my events to be 4 days. Because i understand that 1 day for training is not enough for the participants that are willing to learn wikipedia. Wikipedia is an international free encyclopedia that a new user need to understand it well. May God help me.

Remaining funds edit

Do you have any remaining grant funds?

Yes, i.e N820 only. I suggested the remaining balance to be deducted from my future project. Thank you WNUG for funding my grant application!

Anything else edit

Anything else you want to share about your project? Yes, I am glad for take this project and am so proud of it because i am among the first Nigeria medians that took the first open grant for Wikimedia Nigeria User Group. This project has implement potential impacts into my history as wikimedian. Kaduna polytechnic students where able to understand wikipedia in the right manner Ahamdulillah throught my project. they understand that, wikipedia is a reliable source for academic research and it is not machines that create, edit and improve wikipedia articles.
This experiences i got from this project are:

  • Budget : I can be able to make adjustments in terms of expenditure.
  • Teaching: I can be able to handle project challenges with very few facilitators.
  • I can be able to move project forward with or without honorable guests (Lecturers).
  • The [Economy] is inflating.

My advice to WNUG is, actually a planed to have very great first event for WNUG first open rapid grant project, but unfortunately it failed to worked due to the lower funds for the event... but i so proud of it though the funds was low. I am here by to shear my own point of view on the funding grand to reach at least N500,000 because i think that will be much enough for the applicants to run a very flexible and legendary project. Thank You and God bless Wikimedia Nigeria User Group!!!
