Few Wikipedia contributors are female and When we look at the media content on women, we see that there is great need for better presentation and profiling of African women especially on our local languages. This Project aims to address the under-representation of African women on Wikimedia projects. It also seeks to improve Visibility of women and Women contributors on Wikipedia by training Participants on the basics of Contributing to Wikimedia projects so as to increase the visibility of African women. This project seeks to increase Contents on Wikipedia and it's Sister projects. We Will teach participants on the basics of Creating and translating articles from English to Igbo language,how to create items about women on wikidata, We will give Women visibility on Wikiquote and adding photos to Women wikipedia pages. This project will also help in sourcing new participants joining the Wikimedia Movement.

  1. recruit new editors: On the this project,we will source new members to join our Wikimedia network.
  1. Add or improve content: In this project, We will create new contents and improve the existing ones.

We are doing 2 training and 1week Translate a thon.

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

We have let the Community members and the Coordinators of Anambra Network know about this project.

We will let our participants know about This project on our discussion Page and social media platforms.

5. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?

Community members have gadgets they will contribute with and we will teach them how to navigate the Wikimedia space.

We have our social media platforms where we follow community members up. We will follow them up especially the new participants to teach them how to navigate the Wikimedia space.


7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

This project will help increase the contribution of our community members
