Learning edit

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

  • What worked well?

Yes, we did and we are happy that the project was a success. We had 3 series of event we stated with the Photowalk it was so impactful we got to see many places that we haven't seen, I had the opputunity to see a tortoise for the first time in my life and tho it was dead due to the impact of deforestation in the area. Then we have the online meeting it was impactful and the students were eager to learn how to contribute on Wikipedia Commons with their media files, they asked relevant questions about the campaign. And Finally during the physical meeting we had an interesting session during the meeting more questions were asked and various attributions of the pictures were better explained and how to add categories to pictures as well were better explained. With the data support for the Online meeting we had more student join the meeting and it was very effective.

  • What did not work so well?

Well our Visit to the Niger River basin in Kwara State was unfortunately unsuccessfully because we were asked to tender a Letter from the ministry to be able to access the water area and when the Project was approved we had just one week to plan and go for the photwalk so we were unable to Visit the Niger River basin, but we visited Agba Dam and Asa Dam and it was a great visiting these places as a replacement for the Niger River Basin.

  • What would you do differently next time?

Make sure the places to Visit there was prior notice to the ministry and other organizations we are to work with.
