Proposed participation

edit

I'm involved in the OpenHistoricalMap/OpenStreetMap. Recently I have been developing a new instance of the web mapping editor iD for OpenHistoricalMap. Still my main contribution is my push for a standardized linked open data solution, that is compilable with other open platforms such as Wikidata, Wikipedia, Europeana and counting. During the SOTMUS I intend to work on this standardization/implantation together with other project members. I intend to bring the discussion about linked data and it advantages to the OpenStreetMap community.

Note: In the time of writing I currently developing a API for this proposed linked data schema.

Goal and expected impact

edit

The major aim is to based on discussions and show-case implantations be able to launch a documented tagging schema for complex relationships and an API for the OpenHistoricalMap project, for other to build opp on. With support for common linked open data formats such as RDF and JSONLD.

The second aim is to start a broader discussion in the OpenStreetMap community about how it and other platforms can benefit from linked open data. To open the possibility for a future tagging schema.
