Sumary edit

This year our main task has been to make known about the contest to different institutions, public and private, for their better inclusion in the cultural agendas of these places. So, the main activity has been the dissemination of the event nation wide. The contest in its 2017 edition left us fewer photographs compared to the previous edition but also left us a greater and new participation of people. We believe that from now on we will try to carry out the photographic exhibition after the month of April, which is the start date of the school and university academic year in Peru, or depending of have a nice or important place where we can do it. We planned this part of our work focused on opened spaces to meet and share the WLM experience with artistics and heritage protective collectives, in Lima and in other cities of Perú.

In Lima we can organized some mettings and coordinations with the instagram community in Peru, with they we can realized how is that we can propose them some activities. The most important way is printing fotos, or editing some publications with the fotos from WLM here. https://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikimedia-pe/2018-March/000080.html

In each place we develop meetings and activities for 1 week at least. In print posters and postals invitations (print and shipping) 500 posters and 500 invitations letters x 600

Learning edit

The best thing about trying something new is that you learn from it. We want to follow in your footsteps and learn along with you, and we want to know that you are taking enough risks to learn something really interesting! Please use the below sections to describe what is working and what you plan to change for the second half of your project.

We've learn that we need more and better spread material, like books or some publication like it, that contain all the photos that we have since our first WLM edition, in this publication we need to give to photograohers a special space to promote its work and their contribution to WLM. For press or Heritage Institutions this kind of publications is more usefull and serious than afiches or letters invitations.

In the same time, we learn that our gobernment have betters ears in others cities than Lima, in Cusco or Arequipa, for example, we have very good response from officers, but we don’t have permanent work with they in their cities, it was common that they ask to us for organize others activities like editatons or photowalks.

What are the challenges edit

What challenges or obstacles have you encountered? What will you do differently going forward? Please list these as short bullet points.

  • In a first moment one obstacle was the less attention from Culture Ministry, but this is changing
  • Other obstacle was the ausence of possibility to have a some long time to work in other cities.
  • The very big obstacle was the floods this year, all the attentions, obviously was focused on this terrible problem.

What is working well edit

What have you found works best so far? To help spread successful strategies so that they can be of use to others in the movement, rather than writing lots of text here, we'd like you to share your finding in the form of a link to a learning pattern.

This was very well, very important to arrive to new people in many parts of the country, to involve they in our process and share with they pour experience and comming plans. Sadly, we cant finished but we have very important impuls about our achieved goals this experience. We have now the attention of our Culture Minsitry and some local gobernments in Cusco and Arequipa especially.

In the same time, we have the base knoledge to start our WLM 2019 with more time to afine and strengthen the links with some collectives and institutions, to do this we need a nice publications to share with they.
