This project is to keep existing editors and new editors active on the knowledges gained in the previous projects of Wikipedia Fan Club, University of Ibadan. The aims is to create new articles and recruit up new editors. Wikipedia editors in the University of Ibadan will create wikipedia articles for the 11 Halls of Residence in the University of Ibadan.

We are organizing one edit-a-thon

I have announced this project on Wikimedia_User_Group_Nigeria meta page link [[1]] and University of Ibadan Wikimedia Fan page Whatsapp Group.

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

4. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event? Please provide links to the usernames of these individuals.

5. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?

Yes.
We have designed the event to accommodate only prospective participants with working devices.
Internet support will be provided at the venue for the participants.
Experienced Wikimedians will be available to guide the prospective participants throughout the entire period of the event on how to produce quality content.

6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

We will have a follow up meeting on our WhatsApp group.

  • Johnjoy12 John is the present coordinator of the Wikimedia fan Club, University of Ibadan, will be facilitating training on creating and editing English Wikipedia.

  •   Strong support University of Ibadan is the first university in Nigeria with over a score of halls of residence, this halls of residence lacks good articles on wikipedia.
