Activities edit

Tell us how you'll carry out your project. Be sure to answer the following questions:

1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings?

This project intends to engage the Arusha Wikimedians to learn, participate and contribute to the Wikimedia projects.
  1. The first event will be a training on Wikipedia and Wikimedia commons. Here the participants will get to learn more about these two projects.
  2. The second event will be an editathon were the participants will get a chance to have a hands on experience on what they learnt on the first event
  3. The third event will be a training on Wikidata and training on the mistakes that might have happened in the second event.
  4. The forth event will be an editathon were the participants will get a Wikidata hands-on experience and get to correct the mistakes that happened in the second editathon.
  5. The last event will be a community discussion were as all the participants will be asked to provide any ideas for the community development and partnerships. During the discussion, participants will be introduced to other Wikimedia projects that are not yet in Swahili language and we will come up with a community plan on how we could contribute to these projects.

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.
You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.

I have informed my community through the Wikimedians of Arusha meta page here. [[1]]

For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

Participants will know about the event via the existing community social media channels.

4. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event? Please provide links to the usernames of these individuals.
For example: User:I JethroBT

5. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?

Yes participants have the equipment and skill needed to participate to contribute high quality content. FOr those who don't possess the skills will be trained to acquire those skills.

6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

Through the socialmedia channels available for the community
