Nigeria has about 250 ethnic groups with only 120 having a wikidata item (page). This project is aimed at improving the existing pages and adding more items. I will be organizing a training/edit-a-thon to bridge this gap.

7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

This project will be a bi-weekly event that will help to train new editors on contributing to Wikidata.

  2. Number of participants= 42 (7/event)
  3. Number of new editors = 5
  4. Number of of articles created or improved = 120
  5. Number of repeat participants (for projects that include a series of events) = 7

  1. Participants have either smartphones or laptops.
  2. Experienced editors which include: Egiebizzy (coordinator), DonKevin (facilitator), Samatics (facilitator)

What resources do you need? For your funding request, list bullet points for each expense and include a total amount.

  • Zoom: $15 x 3(months) = $45
  • Graphic design for the event ads: $150
  • Data for participants: $20 x 7 x 6 = $840
  • Souvenir for overall top 10 contributors: $30 x 10 = $300
  • Souvenir for every other participants: $200
  • Miscellaneous: $100
