Project Plan
editActivities
editTell us how you'll carry out your project. Be sure to answer the following questions:
1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings?
- Yes! because i was among the facilitators during Hausa wikitionry event at Kaduna. I picked intrest on it and will like to implement same project especially to the newly editors. I will also recruit new editors in thesame event.
2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.
You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.
- I will make my all effort of possibilities to ensure my community members be aware on this event by mailing them or via social media handles. We can also use Hausa Wikipedia, community groups, friends and Hausa Wikitionary Discussion pages to explorer this project awareness.
3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.
- Since most of the people in our community used smart phones, i can use this opportunity to discuss them via any discussional handle.
4. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event? Please provide links to the usernames of these individuals.
For example: User:I JethroBT
- yes Em-mustapha is the organizer of the wikitionary event i attended as a facilitator, Abubakar A Gwanki is an experienced user that also been facilitator in the event and Salihu Aliyu (Saleh) was also a facilitator while M_bash ne is also an experienced editor in wikipedia.
5. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?
- As most of the participants are people that have smart phones, so we will support them with the use of internet gadget e.g Data. But some may not have smart phones. With that, we will use the institute's computers to give them a peak support in the event!
6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?
- I will make sure i have consistent contact with them to motivate and encourage them to add more efforts not in Hausa wikitionary only but in the wikipedia activities in general.
7. Are you running any in-person events or activities? If so, you will need to complete the steps outlined on the Risk Assessment protocol related to COVID-19. When you have completed these steps, please provide a link to your completed copy of the risk assessment tool below:
8. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?
- Yes! Although this is the first time of my grant application, i feel more courageous to add more efforts in terms of adding more contributions in wikipedia and enlighten people about wikipedia in general. I do understand the goals and mission of wikipedia which lead me to define wikipedia as a +PLANET among PLANETS! God Bless WIKIPEDIA!
