Learning
editProjects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:
- What worked well?
This is by far one of our best project yet. The idea of assigning task to participants after every live session/training was such a huge success in that we were able to get more participants to contribute to the project. this idea was one which we got from our previous project Everything Food Nigeria
- What did not work so well?
- We still faced a bit of internet issues during the live sessions
- We could not afford to give data subsidy to all our participants as we got far more than we anticipated. so we resolved reimbursing the first 30 participants to attend each event.
- What would you do differently next time?
This project is one of the projects we set out in achieving our grand goal which is to build a community of wikimedians who are focused on contributing to the wikidata project. So in our next project, we will consider taking it to schools to recruit more members/editors who will be interested in the wikidata project. thereby getting a more active wikidata community in Nigeria.

Anything else
editAnything else you want to share about your project?
Oh Yes.
This project won the WikidataCon 2021 Community Award.
Also, this project has helped us in achieving our grand goal of building a Wikidata community in Nigeria Ig Wikidata Hub.
These project being one of the projects I have had in order to achieve this objective was indeed a huge success and we are looking forward to solidifying on this great achievement as we now have over a 100 members on the Whatsapp group and about 50 members on our meta page. I'm hoping to get even more Nigerians involved in the wikidata Project and by extension the wikimedia movement.
