T Cells/Training for viewers of Yoruba Wikipedia Promotion Video
Between 20th of March - 25th of March 2021, I launched a promotional video for the Yoruba Wikipedia funded by this rapid grant (see the report). We tried a new experiment: We provided a Google form for viewers who might be interested in joining the Yoruba Wikipedia as a strategy to use the video to recruit new editors. A total of 26 people completed the form for the training. I plan to organize a two-days training for these viewers

  •   Strong support I am happy that we are giving chances to the high numbers of people who are interested and willing to contribute to Yorùbá WP, and also join Yorùbá Wikimedians User Group having watched the short Yorùbá Wikipedia documentary video launched by User:T Cells to create awareness for the local language Wikipedia on Facebook and Twitter. This shows that many people are willing to contribute their expertise to the free knowledge space, but they are not aware of it's existence. It is awesome to see the video yielding a positive result already. However, it would be more sane to utilise this opportunity to retain this people by training them on technical know-how of Yorùbá Wikipedia and further double the learning chances for the existing contributors as well.Agbalagba TC 12:08, 26 March 2021 (UTC)
