Wikidata's 9th anniversary in kaduna
The Global celebration of wikidata's 9th anniversary is a two days event to celebrate Wikidata's 9th birthday which will take place in Kaduna. Event will hold as scheduled below..
  1. Day 1: A full conference, which would be based upon capacity movement and development, Wikimedia skills acquisition, leadership and knowledge sharing. There will also be a high class recognition of Wikidata's contributors.
  2. Day 2: This will be hosted in the evening as a birthday dinner and party to celebrate our community in lights of Wikipedia progress. Also, there will be an award giving period for top 5 editors on Wikidata.

Project Goal edit

  1. We will raise awareness in Kaduna North LGA and of course recruit new editors.
  2. we will make sure to increase skills for existing volunteers
  3. Add or improve content: we will create items for living persons at least 15.
  4. To boost WikiData participants in Kaduna North
  5. To Introduce Wikipedia Sisters Project in Colleges/universities/educational institutions in Kaduna North

  1. Introduction and working on Wikidata
  2. Working on Wikidata/Wikipedia Sister projects.
  3. Working on Hausa Wikipedia/discussing ideas on projects.
  4. Wiki dinner and party.
  5. Award presentation to top 5 editors.

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?

We will use our common social media outlets like WhatsApp, Facebook and Telegram to reach out to our fellow participants

4. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event? Please provide links to the usernames of these individuals.

Experienced editors will be involved in carrying out project. People like myself the organiser of Hausa Wikipedia workshop in Zaria, User:Uncle Bash007, User:Musa Vacho77

5. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?

The participants have moderate experience to attend the event therefore all they will need is a little financial support from the organisers which will be covered in the budget list.

6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

The platform we used in terms of inviting participants will be the same way to keep in touch with our fellow participants

7. Are you running any in-person events or activities? If so, you will need to complete the steps outlined on the Risk Assessment protocol related to COVID-19. When you have completed these steps, please provide a link to your completed copy of the risk assessment tool below:

8. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

This ptoject will cover the whole of Kaduna North LGA and would be of great impact to our society.

How will you know if the project is successful and you've met your goals? Please include the following targets:

  1. There will be two events for this project, one editathon traning session and a celebration of wikidata's 9th anniversary
  2. A minimum of twenty (20) participants for each event.
  3. There will be a recruitment of atleast five (5) new editors.
  4. Ten (10) items to be created or improved
  5. Number of repeat participants (for projects that include a series of events) N/A

As stated above I have experienced and well equiped editors ready to volunteer in carrying out this project
