After extensive phototour in the south west Nigeria, South East Nigeria and recently south south Nigeria; this project is intended to move on to the north central of Nigeria to document and capture landscape images within the region whilst also representing them on Wikipedia. I have experience in organizing photowalks as a professional documentary photographer after participating in several photowalks which include being a grantee to Photowalk at South South Nigeria project which was very successful and increased the representation of Nigerian images on Wikipedia. The North Central part of Nigeria is a part which hasn't been thoroughly documented before now but hold very rich cultural and landmark images of Nigeria, so this project is aimed at primarily taking freely licensed high quality photographs of municipalities and associated landmarks in the 6 North Central states (Benue, Niger, Nasarawa, Plateau, Kogi, Kwara and Federal Capital Territory) in Nigeria which hold great historical landmarks in the history of Nigeria and which most don't have pictures on Wikipedia yet and also organizing a workshop for the region photographers on how to contribute to Wiki commons.

Activities

1. How many walks/tours will you organize and how many people on each walk?

12 different photowalk each day across the states and atleast 8 photographers with 2 photographers focusing on each state.

2. What kind of content will the walks focus on? Why is this topic a priority?

The focus will be on monuments, architectural buildings, nature reserves, and other landmarks which has articles on Wikipedia but no pictures, they include but not limited to: Aper Aku Stadium, Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Makurdi Airport, Benue State University, Makurdi, University of Mkar, Benue State Polytechnic, Benue State House of Assembly, Kogi State University, Agbaja Plateau, Kogi State House of Assembly, World War Cenotaph, Lokoja, Federal University, Lokoja, Salem University, Lokoja, Nasarawa State University, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Farin Ruwa Falls, Federal University of Lafia, Federal University of Technology, Minna, Kainji Lake, Zugurma Game Reserve, Minna Airport, Mayanka Waterfalls, ECWA Evangel Hospital, Hillcrest School (Jos, Nigeria), Plateau State University, Yakubu Gowon Airport, National Hospital, Abuja, Nile University of Nigeria, Old Parade Ground, Ladela Secondary School, Abuja, Loyola Jesuit College, American International School of Abuja, Millennium Tower (Abuja), National Christian Centre

3. What is the plan to ensure images will be used on Wikimedia projects?

There will be an online edit a thon immediately after the photowalks to upload the images on Wikimedia commons at the hotel and also add it to corresponding Wikipedia articles.

4. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?

Yes, all of the participants will be professional photographer

5. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

This project will further provide more images about the south south part of Nigeria which have not be well documented in the past. The states include Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau and FCT states and this will also create awareness of Wiki commons to other professional photographers.

Impact

3. If at least 20% of the images collected are used
