Project Plan
editThe project is going to be awareness, training and Edit-a-thon. On the first day of the event, I will organise a training on how to edit Wikipedia to the new editors and invite expert on Human Rights to give speech on Human Rights especially Right to a healthier environment in Northern Nigeria, and environmentalist to give speech on how to keep our environment healthier. We also take two days of creating and improving articles related to a Right to a healthier environment in Northern Nigeria. After that, I and participants of the event we will take seven days of sharing the created articles during Edit-a-thon on social media platforms for awareness about Right to a healthier environment in Northern Nigeria and gaining visitors to Hausa Wikipedia. This project will Increase the number of articles on Hausa Wikipedia, improve existence ones and raise awareness about Wiki for human rights in Northern Nigeria. And Recruit new editors from Kano, the state with largest population of Hausa people. The project will Encourage Hausa speakers to edit Wikimedia projects, and Increase awareness around Wikimedia projects in Northern Nigeria.

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.
You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.
- I have announced them know about the project via Hausa Wikipedia Discussion Page and Hausa Wikimedians User Group Discussion Page. I also announced via our Telegram and WhatsApp groups.
3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.
- I will create a WhatsApp group for the participants where I will continue engaging them and guide them for editing.
4. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event? Please provide links to the usernames of these individuals.

5. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?

- I will engage them via WhatsApp group

8. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?
- While there is a approved WikiForHumanRights grant on Hausa Wikipedia, I plan to take this program differently. My program is focuses on creating and improving articles related to Northern Nigeria especially rural areas. This program includes Edit-a-thon which will create and improve Human Rights articles related to Northern Nigeria, and Online Promotion and Awareness which we will promote Hausa Wikipedia and WikiForHumanRights Campaign, and Workshop which we will invite Human Rights and Environmental experts to give awareness to Participants, we also train new and existing editors how to edit Wikipedia.
Impact

- I M Bash Ne, I'm experience editor of Wikipedia, I have attended many Wikimedia Events including Wikipedia Edit-a-thon in Kano. I also organised a successful Hausa WIktionary Edit-a-thon in Kano. I will lead the event as organizer.
- Gwanki is a Wikipedia experience editor, he have organised several Wikimedia Projects including Edit-a-thons and awareness. He will help me as Facilitator.
