Activities edit

Tell us how you'll carry out your project. Be sure to answer the following questions:
1. How many walks/tours will you organize and how many people on each walk?

There will be 10 photo walks for the three state and 3 people on each walk.

2. What kind of content will the walks focus on? Why is this topic a priority?

The walk will focus mainly on monuments, architectural buildings, main building entrances, libraries and other landmark monument that currently do not have images on wikipedia. Examples of such places but not limited to them are Ebonyi State University, Federal University Ndufu Alike Ikwo, Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, Gregory University, Temple Gate Polytechnic, Trinity Theological College, Umuahia, Abia State Polytechnic, Federal College of Agriculture, Ishiagu, Abia State University,Cross River University of Technology,University of Calabar, Roman Catholic Diocese of Ogoja.

3. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.
You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.

Yes, The Wkimedian Nigeria User Group has been notified here

4. How will you let participants know about the photowalk? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

Whatsapp messaging platform will be used.

5. What is the plan to ensure images will be used on Wikimedia projects?

There will be an edit-a-thon to ensure that the images are uploaded to commons immediately after the walk.

6. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?

Participants are good photographers.Although they have no camera, we intend on renting cameras for the project. Also Kaizenify will train participants on how to upload images to wiki commons so as to ensure that the images are properly categorised and description of the images would definitely be added.

7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

Apart from adding high quality images to commons and wikipedia, this project will also help in improving the wikimedia visibilities in the states. I also plan on translating some of the articles to Yoruba Wikipedia and those images would be used there also.

8. Are you running any in-person events or activities? If so, you will need to complete the steps outlined on the Risk Assessment protocol related to COVID-19. When you have completed these steps, please provide a link to your completed copy of the risk assessment tool below:
