Learning

edit

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

  • What worked well?

Despite the nature of the event we really had a great team helping manage the event . We have organized four days Events for interested queering wikimedians to learn the basics steps like information about wikipedia creating user account how to find articles and how to edit wikipedia. awearness campaign was well organized and participants understood the ideas of the Events. Also The workshop training helps the new recruited queering editors to understand how wikipedia works as they found its so interesting and participated activily in the campaign.

  • What did not work so well?

Despite an effort to raise awareness about the event campaign Theme"wiki loves lgbt community" there were some challenges to the participants some of the participants are afraid to edit as they are very discrete and precautions about their identities. Also The training sessions wasn't enough as it didn't offer enough time for the participants to effectively engaged with the training.

  • What would you do differently next time?

we are going to organized series of Edia-thon to expand and improved LGBT related contents across several wikipedia project.
