How will you let others in your community know about your project (please provide links to where relevant communities have been notified of your proposal, and to any other relevant community discussions)? Why are you targeting a specific audience?

We are targeting mainly the community of Ionian University and especially the students of the Department of Informatics aiming to reach out new developers. We believe that they will benefit of the new skills that they will acquire and we can turn them into regular contributors. Additionally, such events will strengthen the community of the Ionian University and participating students will invite more students to be part of the Wikimedia Community.

What will you have done at the end of your project? How will you follow-up with people that are involved with your project?

Our main goal is to develop a permanent collaboration among the Department of Informatics and the community of the Ionian University with the Wikimedia Community and engage students to be active members of this community. We believe that the participants of this event will play a catalytic role and will eventually be our ambassadors for future events.
All participants will be asked to fill out a Google Form adding their email to Wikimedia Community User Group
All participants will be asked to fill out a post-event evaluation survey
We aim to publish a research paper based on this event taking into account the expectations of participants, prior knowledge and experience in similar activities and the final outcome

Are you running any in-person events or activities? If so, you will need to complete the steps outlined on the Risk Assessment protocol related to COVID-19. When you have completed these steps, please provide a link to your completed copy of the risk assessment tool below:
