Project Plan
editActivities
editTell us how you'll carry out your project. What will you and other organizers spend your time doing?
- I will engage doctors and ask the about their professional information, for example, their area of specialisation, their address and contacts. I will add that information on Wikipedia so that people can easily find them. My intention is to make all Zimbabwea medical doctors to be available on the Wikipedia database so that when people search for the services the results can be provided by Wikipedia. I was inspired to do this when my daughter was sick and I wanted a Pediatrician. I google searched and Wikipedia had no results. As such, l thought such information needs to be added on Wikipedia. The project is individual because I have noticed many have no time to add information on Wikipedia so I will personally gather the information and add it to wikipedia myself. The other reason for it being individual is because l have participated in the SheSaid Mashonaland Zimbabwe and edit-a-thon events and most people who attended the event never edited or added anything to Wikipedia. As a result I thought if people could provide the information I will add it myself on Wikipedia . This will add to my professional development as a librarian as l will be creating content.
How will you let others in your community know about your project (please provide links to where relevant communities have been notified of your proposal, and to any other relevant community discussions)? Why are you targeting a specific audience?
- I am targeting adding content about doctors because everyone in their life time will at some point search for medical doctors' services. Hence there's need for them to be accessible on large platforms such as Wikipedia
What will you have done at the end of your project? How will you follow-up with people that are involved with your project?
- I could have added content on Wikipedia which will be accessed globally for the benefit of people who will need the information.
Are you running any in-person events or activities? If so, you will need to complete the steps outlined on the Risk Assessment protocol related to COVID-19. When you have completed these steps, please provide a link to your completed copy of the risk assessment tool below:
