The Hausa community is a community of Art, culture and tourism, there are lots of historical places renowned of their diversity and truimph, yet, most of these places are not on commons and on Wikipedia related articles. This photowalk will document files of landmarks and landscpes both natural and artificial which serves as symbol of the Hausa community in Northern Nigeria. The project will also provide the location (coordinates) of such places using the Global Positioning System Devices and information about their relative locations.

Tell us how you'll carry out your project. Be sure to answer the following questions:
1. How many walks/tours will you organize and how many people on each walk?

There are 7 major Hausa cities in Nigeria, this project will include walk to 5 accessible cities of Kano, Zaria, Daura, Jigawa. We are planning on atleast 2 phototowalks in each city.

2. What kind of content will the walks focus on? Why is this topic a priority?

This walk will focus on documenting photos of landmarks and landscapes both natural and artificial as well as recording their actual location using the GPRS Device, and their relative locations.

3. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.

4. How will you let participants know about the photowalk? In what ways will you be communicating with them?

5. What is the plan to ensure images will be used on Wikimedia projects?

Photowalk will focus on snapping prominent landmarks, such as Palaces, ancient Hausa Kingdoms, architecture, Cuisine, Markets, Rocks & Mountains, Water bodies, rivers, Lakes, dams etc. that must surely be used on Wikipedia articles. A list of articles that needed photos of landmarks and landscapes

6. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?

I am an amateur photographer and i have my own camera, i will work with of 5 other editors User:Musa Vacho77 , User: Sanusi Gado & [[Aliyu shaba]]Talk which all have their DLSE Cameras. I will then invite other professional photographers to join the walk and contribute to commons.

7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

Yes, This project will cover photos of many Landmarks in Northern Nigerian, there by providing locations of the landmarks. This project will also introduce photographers to Wikimedia commons and train them on how to contribute to Wikipedia and commons.

I am an amatuer photographer and i work with other professional photographers both on Wikipedia and outside wikis. I aslo participated in the project Photowalk in Five different states of Hausa land, this project spur me to think of a more advanced form of photowalk by adding geographical data to specific landscapes such as coordinates.
