Project Plan edit

Activities edit

Tell us how you'll carry out your project. Be sure to answer the following questions:

1. What is your promotion plan?
You can do a campaign involving billboards or rickshaw announcements to promote Wikimedia projects, such as Santali Wikipedia, at different places in a city. You can promote an online campaign such as Wiki Loves Monuments on Facebook, Twitter, etc using ads. You can also create gifs/slideshows or other easy to make multimedia files and use them to promote your project on social media.

The National Youth Service Corps is a program set up by the Nigerian government to involve Nigerian graduates in nation-building and the development of the country and the program sees young, vibrant fresh graduates posted to different states in the Nation for their compulsory service to the Nation. My promotion plan is to organize Online and Offline promotional campaigns of the Wikimedia Projects for this Corps members. This will be carried out by organizing a two-day physical promotion and training for the graduates stationed at Edo state area of Nigeria to further enlighten them about Wikipedia and Wikivoyage and how they can be a part of it and more importantly how they can collect and develop educational content under a free license or in the public domain, and disseminate it effectively and globally.

Yes, I do. I have experience promoting Wikimedia projects, as I have led both the online and offline promotion of WikiFestival Nigeria project, a project that aims to promote and project Nigerian Festivals on Wikipedia. The project was a huge success. I also have been involved in the promotion and formation of the Wiki Club, Lagos State University (LASU), as I was part of the promotion team that made this event a success and the curation of the Wiki Club, Lagos State University (LASU)

4. What is your post-promotion plan?
What do you plan to do after your campaign ends?

  1. After the promotion and training, the participants would be onboarded to a Whatsapp and Telegram group where they can continually receive mentorship and monitoring of their progress as they proceed.
  2. They will also be added to the Wikimedia Nigeria Mailing list where they can get up-to-date information about happenings within the community.
