Samatics/Advancing Wikimedia Projects in Gungbe Language: Gungbe Wiktionary, Gungbe Wikipedia, Wikidata & Commons
Gungbe is one of the "gbe" languages spoken in Nigeria and Benin Republic. The Gungbe Wikipedia is in the final stage of approval and I intend to introduce other Wikimedia projects to gungbe editors. Advancing Wikimedia projects in gungbe will help to improve the skills of existing editors and improve gungbe wikimedians community engagement. New and existing editors will be introduced and trained on how to contribute to Gungbe Wikipedia, Gungbe Wiktionary, Wikidata and Commons. The Gungbe Wikipedia and Gungbe Wiktionary are listed among incubator wikis that will soon get its subdomain.

10 series of trainings/editathons

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.
You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.

I have informed the Wikimedia User Group Nigeria, Wikimédiens du Bénin User Group, the proposed Gungbe Wikimedians User Group

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

I will inform them through the Gungbe Wikimedians facebook page, Gungbe Wikimedians WhatsApp group, through the local cheifs and town hall meetings.

For example: User:I JethroBT

5. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?

Participants have mobile devices for editing and smart phone for voice recording on Spell4Wiki

6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

I will assign participants to experienced existing editors as mentors.
I will organize weekly google meet training to address questions that requires live answers.
On the facbook page and WhatsApp group, I will be sharing daily editing tips and share progress with participants.

7. Are you running any in-person events or activities? If so, you will need to complete the steps outlined on the Risk Assessment protocol related to COVID-19. When you have completed these steps, please provide a link to your completed copy of the risk assessment tool below:
