editTell us how you'll carry out your project. What will you and other organizers spend your time doing?
- Hausa Wikipedia editors needing to learn how to create Wikidata Items, this program will be the first of its kind to teach Hausa Wikipedia editors how to create and Improving Wikidata items. The program will be for three days, the first day I will launch Training for new and existing editors on how to add data to Wikidata. In the next two days, we will have Edit-a-thon of creating and improving Items for Kano State Secondary Schools, both Government and Private on WikiData.
The program will also teach how to create Wikidata Items to Hausa Wikipedia editors, and what to create Wikidata for. How will you let others in your community know about your project (please provide links to where relevant communities have been notified of your proposal, and to any other relevant community discussions)? Why are you targeting a specific audience?
- I will use our social media handles such as Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, I also discussed with some of our editors about the program via phone call. I also announced via Hausa Wikipedia Discussion page and Hausa Wikimedians User Group Discussion page
What will you have done at the end of your project? How will you follow-up with people that are involved with your project?
- I will continue to discuss with participants via social media, currently we have a special WhatsApp group of Kano Wikimedians. I will continue to engaging them to adding and improving the contents.
