1. What is the change that you are trying to bring about and why is this important.

Women are usually marginalized, they contribute less to wikipedia particularly in a country like Nigeria due to lack of awareness. This project will be the first of it's kind to take place in GGSS Kawo, thus, there would be more inclusiveness in articles creation as it will go along way in recruiting more female editors for Hausa Wikipedia, poorly developed articles will be improved. At the end of the project, there would be increased participation of women in wikipedia.

2. Describe your main approaches or strategies to achieve these changes and why you think they will be effective.

Firstly, I will pay a familiarization visit to the school management and seek for their consent for the conduct of the project, secondly, I will have a stakeholders/ planning meeting with both school and students representatives and the wikipedia experienced editors who will assist in actualizing the project. Thirdly, flyers and t-shirts will be produced and shared in the school, in addition, training on wikipedia and it's sister platforms as well as edit-a-thon will be conducted and lastly knowledge and experience sharing would be conducted for learning.

Yes, I have created a very strong and dedicated team with requisite knowledge and expertise, they have years of experience in facilitation on wikipedia. They are team players and can as well work under pressure. The team includes the following;

African countries particularly Nigeria is facing a very low gender equality, low participation of women in developmental projects and content creation in wikipedia, as a result of this project, there would be increased participation of women of school age in wikipedia - content/articles creation.

The target population are teachers and female students of Government Girls Secondary School Kawo, Kaduna, Nigeria. The school community will be informed of the project before commencement and will be highlighted the importance of the project and how can they and their entire community be impacted by it. After the completion of the project social media groups will be created for further engagement with the participants or new recruited editors.

10. In what ways are you actively seeking to contribute towards creating a safer, supportive, more equitable environment for participants?

Women are most of the vulnerable group in entire population, therefore a good plan will be made to ensure their safety and conducive environment will be provided too such as computer room with internet access. Wikimedia friendly space policy will be strictly adhered to before kick starting the event.

I have five (5) well experienced editors that will assist me in actualizing this project, these wikimedians are very experienced particularly in the area of project delivery, with them in my team, I would assure you of a very fruitful results and impact. The above team members will be communicated through the user group social media platforms such as Whatsapp and/ or Telegram.
