we want to attend to the lack of awareness in our community on the contributions to wikidata , specifically how the wikipedia articles and contributions on location information are directly related to wikidata and how this is reflected in open street map

Based on the planned activities of the wikidata trainings in Africa great lakes through the initiatives of invest in leadership and skills development https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Movement_Strategy_in_Africa_Great_Lakes We plan to make different activities to raise awareness of wikidata in our community , these will include the edit-a-thons , the trainings , open awareness campaigns especially in the social media and other communication means.

We will outsource from the experienced wikidata expert led by Kateregga1 , who will guide the trainings , the workshops and other important activities to increase the awareness of wikidata especially in wikimedia community in Rwanda. We will coordinate with the 4 other community members in events and workshops organisations.

We target the wikimedia community and we plan to onboard new members from university and technical schools as wikidata is related to databases , we will emphasize on the computer sciences skills as well as geographic information systems skills . We will target the general audiences for purpose of increasing end user experiences in analysis of data from wikidata.
