Wiki Loves Africa" project aims to address the lack of representation of Africa on Wikipedia and the Wikimedia projects. "With the "Africa creates" theme, we are aiming to bring about a change in the perception of Africa as a place of creativity and innovation. One of the main challenges we are trying to solve is the perception of Africa as a place of poverty and conflict, rather than a place of opportunity and creativity. To address this challenge, we plan to focus on promoting content that showcases the creative achievements of Africans, such as art, music, literature, fashion, and cuisine.

Also, to solve are the lack of knowledge and awareness of Africa's rich history and culture, as well as the limited availability of content about Africa in multiple languages. To address these challenges, we plan to organize a series of workshops and edit-a-thons, as well as provide training and support for new editors from Africa. We also plan to engage with the local communities and build partnerships with organizations that share our vision.

  • Provide training and support for new editors from Africa.
