The Tamale Wikihub is a member of the Open Foundation West Africa and is situated in the northern part of Ghana. Through an open-centered approach, our objective is to promote and raise the image of Ghana, West Africa, and the African continent as a whole. People whose stories and passions line up with our own beliefs and objectives are given access to opportunities for capacity building and skills training. Lookman Sunday Ibrahim (username: Ibrahim Achiri) and Abdul-Rahim Ziblim (username: Knowledge and philosophy), who have both received training from Open Foundation West Africa, serve as the hub's leaders. Our main goal as volunteers is to openly share knowledge online for free, without any copyright or mechanisms of control.
At Tamale Wiki Hub, we host training sessions to teach our community's members and ourselves how to edit articles on different Wikimedia projects, create new articles, upload content to the Wikimedia Commons, play wikidata games, editathons on Wikipedia, and take photos, among other things. Up to 45 people are currently active members of our hub, and we host trainings for them to increase their ability to effectively contribute free information in the open environment. In addition, we give our users editing projects to do on their own, and we recognize the top contributors in each training session by utilizing the dashboard as a guide.

The change we are trying to bring is centered around showcasing amazing, openly licensed photos of northern Ghana's landscapes and historical sites. To increase awareness of the cultural and natural significance of the region, these photos will be posted to Wikimedia Commons, where users may use them for free and incorporate them into Wikipedia articles. By taking part in this campaign, you may help by promoting the value and beauty of Ghana's northern natural heritages on a worldwide scale.

The activities we are planning to organize for this project are: 1. There will be a training session at the Tamale Wiki Hub to introduce the project or movement and educate community members about various Wikimedia projects. 2. We will have five days of photowalks to take fresh pictures of unphotographed northern Ghanaian landscapes to increase the number of free images available on Wikimedia projects. 3. We will have a prize presentation and celebration for the winners' achievements in promoting northern Ghana's natural heritage during the closing ceremony. These campaigns seek to emphasize the value of freely accessible photos on Wikimedia projects while encouraging users to take pictures and share the beautiful landscapes of the region.

Abdul-Rahim Ziblim (Knowledge and philosophy) is a co-facilitator, volunteer, national service personnel, and wikimedian at the Tamale Wiki hub who is experienced in taking awesome pictures of natural landscapes. Lookman Sunday Ibrahim (Ibrahim Achiri) is a deputy lead at the the Tamale Wiki hub who is experienced in organizing, training Saani Yahaya (Pirate 064) is an experienced wikimedian from the Open Foundation West Africa and will be responsible for online training of volunteers and monitoring of the dashboard.

Anyone can enter our Photowalk campaign. Participants are welcome to submit whatever images they may have of northern Ghana that connect to the contest's theme. Professional photographers will be encouraged to enter the competition to provide high-quality photos. We will communicate with the participants and set up training to keep them involved both before and during the activity. After the activities, we will add them to our dashboard and establish a communication channel with the participants to stay in touch and follow up with them.

We want to learn more about how Ghana's northern natural heritage may be showcased and amplified globally, hence elevating our significance, through learning from Africa's natural environments. We hope to gain knowledge on how the northern Ghanaian heritage sites can have a beneficial social impact and foster knowledge sharing in an open space under a free license.
