Bahasa Kubu atau Bahasa Rimba merupakan salah satu bahasa daerah yang dikategorikan sebagai C6b Threatened menurut SIL Ethnologue, artinya bahasa ini mulai terancam dan mengalami penurunan jumlah penutur dari waktu ke waktu. Hal ini disebabkan oleh minimnya Orang Rimba yang melek aksara dan berdampak pada tidak adanya tradisi tulisan yang mendokumentasikan bahasa mereka. Bahasa Rimba hanya dituturkan oleh sesama Orang Rimba dan untuk berkomunikasi dengan masyarakat di luar komunitasnya, mereka menggunakan Bahasa Melayu. Hal ini disebabkan karena adanya stigma negatif tentang Orang Rimba sehingga mereka merasa malu diketahui identitasnya sebagai Orang Rimba. Dari permasalahan tersebut, maka penting untuk mendokumentasikan Bahasa Rimba agar ketika penutur Bahasa Rimba tidak ada, bahasa dan pengetahuan Orang Rimba tidak ikut hilang. Sementara itu untuk masyarakat umum, dokumentasi ini dapat digunakan sebagai rujukan penelitian lanjutan. Strategi yang dilakukan untuk mencapai tujuan proyek ini adalah dengan melakukan wawancara kepada Komunitas Orang Rimba74.980.000melakukan kampanye publik dalam pelestarian Bahasa Rimba. Pelibatan Orang Rimba secara langsung diperlukan karena mereka adalah penutur asli Bahasa Rimba. Sedangkan kampanye publik sangat diperlukan untuk mulai mengenalkan Bahasa Rimba kepada masyarakat umum.

Onyaso - Project Manager Menyiapkan panduan perekaman kosa kata bahasa, mengelola proyek agar berjalan lancar, menyiapkan materi pelatihan sekaligus menjadi pelatih dalam pelatihan menyunting wiktionary. Menjalin komunikasi dengan 2 Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia di 2 Universitas di Jambi untuk kegiatan pelatihan dan membuat materi promosi pelatihan.

Kemudian peserta akan Whatsapp Group untuk mempermudah komunikasi selama proses pendokumentasian.
