The WikiForHumanRights 2024 Campaign in Burundi aims to cultivate awareness and involvement at the intersection of human rights and sustainability within Burundian community. Our mission is to put accent to the importance of sharing free knowledge in general and related to human right in particular , we will empower individuals by providing accessible, accurate, and localized knowledge on human rights issues, with a particular emphasis on their connection to fostering a sustainable future. We have Burundian Wikimedians in different province of Burundi, it will be an opportunity to promote sharing knowledge, and knowledge related to human rights among Burundian community. We seek to inspire proactive engagement in promoting human rights and environmental protection. Through this Campaign we will raise awareness on the right to a healthy environment, writing and modifying articles related to human rights. We aim to spark positive change and encourage active participation in shaping a future that prioritizes human rights

1.Training of participants in writing articles on Wikimedia Wikipedia ; 2.Awareness of the competition, through amelioration, modification of articles on Wikipedia ; 3. Introduction of wikicommons, wikidata and wikisource for new and existing contributors; 4. Photo walk, participants will learn essential skills for taking pictures and they will take pictures to upload on wikicommons 4. Closing campaign, 5 Awards + Best female contributor would be given to outstanding contributors involved in the campaign.

Ferdinand IF99 : Project lead, a volunteer who will lead the overall project development and implementation activities, facilitate access to the areas targeted by this project, ensuring compliance to the grant commitments and reporting to the Project on progress and status of campaign.
Gilbert Ndihokubwayo: Co-organizer, a volunteer in charge of partnership. His role is to mobilize people around the project, co-train interested in participating to the campaign.

The WikiForHumanRights 2024 Campaign in Burundi will accept every interested to participate. Every person, being Burundians or not, Wikimedian or not having Knowledge about wikimedia projects or not, will be welcome to participate. Before and during the activities, we will engage the participants through the communication, organization of meetings. In order to follow up the participants after the activities, encourage the participants to join our communication channels to still in contact with the participants.

The project is discussed with our community members through our channels of communication. We mainly use our WhatsApp group of communication to interact with members where we collect opinions and views of the members about our community or activities. When the project is about to be implemented, we will use information posters to advertise and call for new volunteers; we will use social media and internal communication channels to advertise the event. Offline Discussions and Meetings with existing Burundi wikimedians to mobilize participants.
