The campaign is under the theme “from farm to plate”, and through it, we as a wikimedia user group are trying to document through photos and videos the journey of the food from its origin and the people behind our meals in our local community. Pictures about Africa in General and Sudan specifically are lacking in Wiki Commons though this Annual photo Contest we are trying to improve the content about Sudan. By Sudanese contributors. Photos uploaded in the contest and the experience of contributing to enrich the content about Sudan will motivate more Sudanese Photographers to join the community of Sudan Wikimedia. We have organized the contest more than once and we see that the participants can have more than one added value from joining the campaign. The participant will have more exposure to the global community which could be a good opportunity for Sudanese photographers. The campaign theme will be reflected mainly by Sudanese photographers, and this opportunity will encourage them to show their creativity and connect with the global community.

Online and In Person Training Photo Walks in Person Upload Sessions Details of the activities Workshop: this a one day event in which the participants with the help of the main facilitator will improve their understanding of Wiki Commons and the basics of taking an accepted picture within the theme of the contest. Photo walk: A group of the participants and the walk coordinator will meet in the city to take random pictures that will help them reflect the theme of the contest within their community.
Video Editing training and uploading season: The Training of the video will enable the community to have more contribution especially in the classification of video and audio . In the upload session the participant will gain the basic skills to link between the photos and wikipedia articles. The activities will take place in-person among the Sudanese wikimedia members in Kosti city the white Nile state, and Nyala city the south Darfur state in Sudan. Part of the activities will be held in online sessions. Due to the current situation we will try to build new partnerships with National Non governmental and voluntary associations to help us facilitate renting a place for the community in person activities.

The team mostly were involved in organizing previous editions of WLA and Team leadership of the Training. The team organized Wiki Loves Africa 2021, 2021 and 2022. Ola, Fatima and Maram were part of the WikiGap Khartoum campaign in 2018, then started organising the campaign for the years 2019, 2020 then Hassan joined organising it in 2021???. Maram has successfully helped the community implement in-person and online workshops’ Trainings during the Sudanese Content Project on Wikimedia. Our Team Member Hassan is mainly involved in motivating and following up with newcomers; he is actively reaching out to other communities to build networks and partnership for our Community. Fatima's role is organizing the workshops that were held in South Darfur State.

Target participants are Sudanese photographers who have at least basic skills of taking pictures who are members of the Wikimedia Sudan User group. The Community has more than 70 registered members with around 25 active within the last three months after more than a year of War in Sudan a lot of Sudanese youth (photographers, artists, university students) have been relocated to Egypt, South Sudan and Uganda, those will be our first priority. Dashboard will be created for the activity to follow-up on the edits regarding the campaign

The idea of community participation in the Wiki Loves Africa 2025 was discussed with members, through the communication channels (Whatsapp Group). The discussion involved the application and their participation in it, the members welcomed and accepted it.

The project will develop the capacity of newcomers in three groups White Nile (Kosti) and South Darfur (Nyala) and the global Online activity. On the one day Training on the basics of Wikicommons the participants will get to know who to upload photos and write the description and the structure data of the photo. ) (3 sessions 20 participants,
The participants will have a series of training as well as orientation on the theme of the contest and will organize a photo walk to enable them to capture the pictures needed for the contest. ( 3 photo walks and 20 participants with 3 organizers After the photowalks the community will have an upload session / edit-a-thon to make sure that the photos are incorporated into the wikipedia articles and wiki data. ( 3 sessions and 20 participants) As for the more specific training there will be cooperation with professional photographers for implementation of two days training
