1. What is the change that you are trying to bring about and why is this important.

Niger state is tourist places and most visited tourist places in Nigeria is located in Niger State there is numerous tourist attractions site in the state and there is no quality images and cultural heritage of Nupe, Gwari images and even some important places like Emirates, Dams and electric power stations in Shiroro, Zungeru etc so most of this historic places have no images in Wikimedia commons and related articles to Niger state. We plan to proposed photowalks in Niger State so that we will takes pictures of historic places, upload them to wikimedia commons and add them to Niger state related articles. And there is no any wikimedia photowalks been done in Niger State.

2. Describe your main approaches or strategies to achieve these changes and why you think they will be effective.

We plan to organise 5days photowalks with 4 experience wikimedia volunteer editors and 1 photographer who help us in taking pictures during our photowalks. And this project will be very effective to wikimedia commons and related articles to Niger state especially to Nupe and Gwari Culture. This project will also focused on taking pictures Nupe culture, heritage and major Emirates in Niger State. There is also an awareness and Edit-a-thon training about Wikipedia, wikimedia commons, wikidata and wikitionary during the training we will recruit new users and train them.

3. What are the activities you will be developing and delivering as part of these approaches or strategies?

Our main activities during the events are:

Firstly Visiting some historic places like,
1. Zuma Rock
2. Gurara water falls (bunu village)
3. The moving rock
4. Frederick Lord Lugard colonial ruins in Zungeru
5. River Niger
6. Nupe and Gwari historic places
7. Major Emirates in Niger State

Secondly our activities will be focused on the following:

1. Five days trips for taking pictures
2. Two days workshop, this is to train our new editors and uploaded pictures to the wikimedia commons
3. Providing a short books that contains information on how to create account, edit Wikipedia and how to use wikimedia and it's sisters project
4. Sharing of the books during trips and workshop

Our targeted participants are Nupe, Gwari, some Emirates council and few people from the visited areas in Niger State.
