This project seeks to:
- 1. Create awareness about Wikipedia and its sister projects.
- 2. Introduce recruited teachers to the projects of Wikimedia.
- 3. Introduce teachers to Wikipedia as a source of research for knowledge
- 4. Introduce teachers to Wikimedia Commons.
- 6. Recruit new editors.
- 7. Create or improve Wikidata items.
- 2. Describe your main approaches or strategies to achieve these changes and why you think they will be effective.
Meetup: This approach grants participants the liberty to socialize, share ideas, and in the end benefit from each other’s knowledge. We will use this approach to discuss Wikimedia and its projects since it is great for such discussions and deliberations.
Workshops/pieces of training: With the help of this method or strategy, new users can brush up on what they already know while also learning new information. Workshop participants exchange ideas, which allows them to not only learn new information but also to interact with one another and get to know their fellow Wikimedians better.
Editathon: Editathons are typically the best strategy to use in situations where one wants to have a task completed fast. Because of this, it actively involves everyone. As they witness their fellow participants working harder, participants will be motivated to do the same. Once more, this strategy will enable participants to communicate with one another and, in the end, resolve issues that concern the event.

We will select schools from the project’s target location and engage with them as participants in implementing this project. Here is the link to the list of schools we will be working on.

Participating teachers will be taken through how to use Wikipedia as a research tool for finding content that would complement their teaching in terms of content on various topics/subjects. This will serve as an alternative to the normal textbooks for normal class teaching.
Small handouts containing a brief description of all the Wikimedia projects will be distributed to participants to enable them to have handy content about the various projects.
A whole month will be dedicated to the campaigns and promotions to make the teachers become well aware of Wikipedia and its sister projects.
Another month will be dedicated to introducing teachers to Wikimedia projects placing emphasis on Wikidata and Wikimedia Commons. This is to allow them to document their schools on Wikidata and Wikimedia Commons.
The project will run for two months with 4 events for each month summing up to a total of 8 events.
We will have a one-on-one session where participants will have the opportunity to ask questions that border them with regard to the knowledge learned.
Mentorship sessions will be instituted where completely new participants will be assigned to experienced Wikimedians to mentor them after the various training sessions. This is geared towards retaining volunteers and keeping them active.
Participants who are without user accounts will be assisted to create for themselves.
