1. What is the change that you are trying to bring about and why is this important.

We have noticed that there is less information about Nigerian state legislators in the different Wikipedia projects. The Senate and the Federal House of Representatives are in the Federal Government. 36 state governments.

Each of these state governments has a State governor and a state House of Assembly which is the legislators for the state and make laws for the state and are headed by a speaker of the house. Several people had been elected to be members and speakers of these houses of Assembly from 1999 when Nigeria returned to civil rule to date. We have checked and noticed that most of these legislators are not in any Wikipedia projects including Wikipedia, Wikidata, and Wiki commons. There has been more emphasis on the government at the federal. We intend to organize edit a thon to create and improve data on these state legislators. Also, we will collaborate with the Conference of Speakers of State Legislators in Nigeria ( https://cssln.org.ng/ ), an association of the speakers of the 36 States in Nigeria. They are to provide us with information to verify data collected about members of each state assembly. They will provide us with relevant information and facilitate our reaching any of the clerks and leadership of the state assembly to update information about existing and former members of the assembly. We will also have a special session with staff of the Conference of Speakers and staff of Nasarawa State House of Assembly to introduce them to Wikipedia
2. Describe your main approaches or strategies to achieve these changes and why you think they will be effective.

Strategic meetings with the conference of speakers will lead to the gathering of published information and connection to other states of assemblies. Organizing series of edit a thon

3. What are the activities you will be developing and delivering as part of these approaches or strategies?

1. Meetings: There will be joint meetings with the staff of the Conference of Speakers so as to collect all relevant publications, both hard copies and online publications, about state legislators. We will collect pictures, We will also collect a reference or lead to the leadership of different houses of assembly from them so as to facilitate reaching these officials to provide information

2. We will also have a special session with them to introduce them to Wikipedia and invite them to the edit a thon to be conducted to create these contents.
3. We will hold some meetings with the Nasarawa State House of Assembly to collect relevant publications, pictures etc on all their legislators.
4. We will also hold a special session with them to introduce them to Wikipedia
5. We will announce and advertise the edit a thon to invite wikimedians within Nasarawa State and Federal Capital Territory to meet and create content about state legislators in Wikipedia. This will include sending an invite to the User group Nigeria hub in FCT, Igbo User Wikimedian User Group, Yoruba and Hausa Wikimedian User Group members in Nasarawa State and FCT. There will also be a general invitation online.
6. There will be 3 edit a thon to be held in the Mararaba district in Nasarawa State. The 1st Edit a thon will be used to create content in wiki Commons. The 2nd will be used to create content in Wikidata while the 3rd will be used to edit content in Wikipedia. If we are not able to complete creating the contents we planned, participants will be urged to work online until the end of the project.
4. Are your activities part of a Wikimedia movement campaign or event? If so, please select the relevant campaign below. If so, please select all the relevant campaigns from the list below. If "other", please state which.

5. Do you have the team that is needed to implement this proposal?

Offordile234 : Will be in charge of coordinating the project. Onyenachi64: will lead the mobilization effort. We will also go to some state legislative houses to get pictures of legislators and other relevant information Obihoja: 1) Will lead the meetings and collaboration with the Conference of Speakers.

               2) Will lead the effort to reach the leadership of different state legislators as may be necessary.
6. Please state if your proposal aims to work to bridge any of the identified CONTENT knowledge gaps (Knowledge Inequity)? Select up to THREE that most apply to your work.

6.1 In a few sentences, explain how your work is specifically addressing this content gap (or Knowledge inequity) to ensure a greater representation of knowledge.

it is going to bring state legislators and all their information together in the Wiki projects

7. Please state if your proposal includes any of these areas or THEMATIC focus. Select up to THREE that most apply to your work and explain the rationale for identifying these themes.

Education, Advocacy

8. Will your work focus on involving participants from any underrepresented communities?

9. Who are the target participants and from which community? How will you engage participants before and during the activities? How will you follow up with participants after the activities?

There will be 2 classes of participants. The first set: already existing editors who are used to contributing to Wikipedia. These are Wikipedians who are in Nasarawa State and FCT who will be invited to participate. These people do not need special programs to urge them to continue participating. The other set is the staff of the Conference of Speakers and Staff of Nasarawa State House of Assembly. These are new entrances into the Wikipedia family. Their first contact will be a special session that will be held for each of the two groups separately. These sessions will be an introduction to Wikipedia and to editing. After these sessions, they will be invited to participate in the 3 edit a thon where experienced editors will participate. It is expected that they will learn with these editors. Part of the discussions that will take place with the leadership of the Conference of Speakers is that this project is to commence the process of adding state legislators to Wikipedia. These legislators are obviously so many that all the contents cannot be added within this period. They are to be urged to get all other state houses of assembly to work with Wikipedians and continue adding content. The crop of officers who participated in this project will be the first officers to drive this movement. We will continue to support them to get more and more staff of state houses to join the movement and contribute. With the continuous involvement of these first participants, they will continue to participate and urge more people to participate.

10. In what ways are you actively seeking to contribute towards creating a safer, supportive, more equitable environment for participants?
