1. What is the change that you are trying to bring about and why is this important.
  • We want to celebrate the achievements of NCPUG volunteers with our members, on the number of images and audios they have linked in Wikidata item.
  • We want to explore participants and NCPUG members on the relationship between Wikimedia Commons and Wikidata.
  • Workshop: to share knowledge among our community: encourage people to share what they know about Wikidata and its related activities.
  • onboard new and existing people on the relationship between Commons and Wikidata: how to link images and audio to Wikidata items.
  • To celebrate Wikidata at 10th, as we have started celebrating Wikidata at 10 right from Wikimania 2022.
2. Describe your main approaches or strategies to achieve these changes and why you think they will be effective.

This event is all about celebration, but we have a strategic plan to take the advantage of birthday celebration to mentor participants the importance of Wikidata, to know how Wikidata collects data from all wikis and Wikimedia projects, and to acquire the extreme knowledge on how to link images and audios they've uploaded into Wikimedia Commons by creating Wikidata item or lexeme. Moreover, to also know how to add language description to created item as well as knowing how to add statements to Wikidata item. knowing such will let them know that one image if linked to Wikidata item can appear in different Wikis using Databox template, without a continuous linking of image in every Wiki. NOTE It is part of this year's celebration to create videos as you can see from the event page in Wikidata, so NCPUG will create 5 videos covering the whole event.

3. What are the activities you will be developing and delivering as part of these approaches or strategies?

The following are the activities We will be developing as part of our strategy and approach.

  • We will train participants on how to create Wikidata items during the Workshop.
  • We will train participants on how to create language description and statements (audio and images), under statements in Wikidata item, images and audios will be linked so that NCPUG contributors can link the work they released to Wikidata item under statements.
  • We will create video celebration to cover the two main events.
4. Are your activities part of a Wikimedia movement campaign or event? If so, please select the relevant campaign below. If so, please select all the relevant campaigns from the list below. If "other", please state which.
