1. What is the change that you are trying to bring about and why is this important.

Gender-based violence occurs in Nigeria on daily bases. there are also many publications on it from Nigerian authors as can be seen from google scholar. Unfortunately, gender-based violence in Nigeria has no coverage in Wikipedia, one of the most visited sites on the internet. A search on it using Petscan yielded zero results. Though there are topics such as violence against women, violence against men, gender-related violence, etc these articles treated the topic in generality, as such failed to threaten the topic in any cultural contest. It is important that articles on issues such as gender-based violence are written in the cultural context in which they occur to attract and retain the attention of their audience. It is therefore important that articles on gender-based violence in Nigeria are made available to Nigerian readers. Nigeria is the largest country in Africa with diverse geography and hundreds of languages. it is important that information on Nigeria is made available for Nigerian readers.
