1. What is the change that you are trying to bring about and why is this important.

This project will serve as a first campaign to introduce Wikimedia Fan Club, Umaru Musa Yar'adua University, Katsina to the University and make alliances with different educational parastatals in the school such as, the University Library, Linguistic Department, Social clubs (Hausa Club) etc. in order to increase Wikipedia appreciation and recognition as well as contributors who will join the club from the university. 2. Describe your main approaches or strategies to achieve these changes and why you think they will be effective.

We will make alliances with the different educational parastatals in the university via the following approaches

1. In-person campaign where will visit these eductional facilities and introduce them to Wikipedia
2. Online campaign: we will make alliance with the school e-library and organise a Wikipedia awareness and tutorial and suggest Wikipedia as a major tool for research in the school e-library
3. Meet officially with leaders/directors of these educational programs
4. Meet with the student affairs department and request for a temporary office for Hausa Wikimedians UserGroup, Wikimedia Fan Club Umaru Musa Yaradua University
3. What are the activities you will be developing and delivering as part of these approaches or strategies?

1. We will create a video campaign stating briefly the goals and mission of Wikipedia to the school

2. Call for participants to join the club
3. Meet with the school management (and some program leaders) to introduce the Fan club to them
4. We will try to negotiate with the school ICT to attach the video to the students portal for advert
5. Train students and lecturers on how to contribute to Wikipedia

This project will tend to fill gender gap and will focus on improving contents in Hausa thereby introducing and training lecturers and students to the club

The target is to introduce Umaru Musa Yar'adua University to the school management and make effective alliances with different educational parastatals in the schools. therefore the target is the school staffs and educational program and social clubs such as library, Hausa Club, Student Union Government etc.

We have already contacted the university library director and president of the Student Union Government about the Fan Club and they are interested and ready to work with us. Next is to contact the school ICT if they will attach the campaign video on the students portal

I wish to ceate a strong alliance with the school management by introducing Umaru Musa Yaradua University Wiki Fan club and making it a well recognised club in the school and therefore allocate a Wiki Fan Club office (either temporary/permanent) in the school.
