From a regional perspective we are looking to participate in the 2025 Everybookitsreader campaign with events running up to world book day on the 23rd of April 2025. This would be a collaborative effort with our sister African countries to celebrate and enhance content available on African authors and african books and african literary works

Alternatively, you can upload a timeline document. When the activities include partnerships, include details about your partners and planned partnerships.

Main Activities(Per Country): 1. Engage with communities to increase knowledge about the campaign and to improve content on african books, authors and literary works. 2. Run workshops to train new editors on Wikipedia and on contributing to the movement strategy and on affiliate works and how to get involved. 3. Host a collaborative editathon on the 23 April with all participating countries which will include local african authors celebrating World Book Day.

Planned Partnerships: 1. we would like to include our existing partners in these events to strengthen our bonds with partners but would also like to use this oppurtunity to engage potential new partners at the World Book Day editathon.

Target audience would be all community members and public members who would like to participate and are patient about books and litery works particularly about Africa and in African Languages

Wikimedia ZA hosted an online meeting with members of other affiliates to isolate interest in collaborating with the chapter on this event. The feedback from the community members was resoundingly in favour of the collaboration. This collaborative effort will allow for the newer affiliates to gain practical experience hosting events such as this which we believe will assist them in future initiatives the request funding for.
