- 1. What is the change that you are trying to bring about and why is this important.
This is an important year for the municipal cities in Mozambique. It is the year when political parties ran for office through election. However, many municipal cities have not been translated into Emakhuwa wikipedia though the incubation project we are working since 2021. This project, if funded, will engage local wikipedia wikipedia in an contest to translate the profile of the 53 municipal cities which are listed here: https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lista_de_munic%C3%ADpios_de_Mo%C3%A7ambique_por_prov%C3%ADncia. By translating these cities into Makhuwa, we will enrich the encyclopedia and will allow local newspapers and radio stations, including campaigner to use this information.

I will enagage the 22 students who have been trained to translate and improve makhuwa encyclopedia which we are working on to translate the profile of these municipal cities as a contest. I will distribute two to four municipal cities to each student to translate as part of competition with other peers. After that, he will publish the text and a group of three lecturers will be asked to check the published articles. We will chose a date when we are going to gather at Centro Cultural da Universidade Rovuma, a cultural center where most of the events take place at this University. In this occasion each participant will will be asked to read aloud before the audience. The audience will be made of students from other faculties and other universities which have campuses in Nampula city. The purpose of reading aloud before the audience is to encourage the audience to start exploring wikimedia encyclopdia in their language. The Juri will decide for the best three to receive the contest prizes. All the participants will put a T-shirt with wikimedia Foundation logo, and we will Record a short video while each one is reading. This videos will be published on wikicommon and displayed with the text that was read by the participant. This will be very helpful because many makhuwa people are used to oral literature.
- 3. What are the activities you will be developing and delivering as part of these approaches or strategies?
The main activities will:
- 1. Translation of the text from Portuguese or English wikipedia pages to Emakhuwa;
