Art + Feminism 2023 au Togo

Q. Indicate if it is a local, international, or regional proposal and if it involves several countries? (optional)

Local

Q2. If you have answered regional or international, please write the country names and any other information that is useful for understanding your proposal.

R. If you would like, please share any websites or social media accounts that your group or organization has.

1. What is the change that you are trying to bring about and why is this important.

To bring a new look on the female gender; to try to revalue the image of the woman in our current society, to show their aptitudes in most of the sectors. Her great participation in the development of the Togolese economy since the colonial times is undeniable. The woman by her small activities participate in the dynamization of the economic sector. However, it is clear that their activities are often marginalized by the country's statistics. In the agricultural sector, women participate enormously in various productions (corn, sorghum, soya beans, etc.) In the processing sector, women manufacture several products (local drinks, local dishes, etc.); they also participate in the service sector.

2. Describe your main approaches or strategies to achieve these changes and why you think they will be effective.

A training session on editing articles on wikipedia for the participants of the contest; A training session in photography for the participants of the contest; photo outings; an uploading session on wiki common; edit-a-tons. The project will allow participants to take pictures of women in action and illustrate them with articles. The objective was to give more visibility to their economic activities.

In general, women are in the informal sector, but these escape economic statistics and are poorly represented on the chessboard. Our work will highlight women in their activities to show the place they occupy in the development of Togolese economy.

7. Please state if your proposal includes any of these areas or THEMATIC focus. Select up to THREE that most apply to your work and explain the rationale for identifying these themes.

And finally, a call and internet package so that participants can stay in touch and upload their photos and articles.
