1. What is the change that you are trying to bring about and why is this important.

The Importance of these project is to bring to the Anambra Wikimedians Network and the people of Anambra a project on the Visibility of Women in various works especially Women in Arts.Having assessed my community,Women are among the underrepresented people and are the less contributors in the Network and Art+Feminism is a group with the aim of increasing Gender(Women) and Art Visibility.We want to build a network that contribute to addressing Women digital gap.This Project plan to create contents about Women on Wikipedia and it's Sisters projects, increase the interest of more female contributors within the community and beyond and source new contributors, thereby bridging the gender gap and promoting diversity through editing/creating, translating articles about Women on Wikipedia and also improving the existing ones.This improvements will involve adding references, photos, creating wikidata items,adding quotes about Women on Wikiquote. The project will also involve language Visibility i.e Creating,translating and improving articles,quotes,photo description and items about Women to Igbo language or other African languages like the Swahili. We will focus on increasing the visibility of Women who edit Wikimedia projects, training participants both male and female on the basics of editing Wikipedia including other Wikimedia projects.The Challenge we plan solving are to bridge the gender gap, increase awareness, improve Users experience, contribute to knowledge equity, bridge content gap, Increase the knowledge about Wikimedia as an avenue to widen access to open knowledge and ways for it accessibility, Contribute to language visibility and Improve Users media and information literacy skills.We will organize Editathons and Contests after the trainings to increase contents which is one of the relevant Strategy in achieving the visibility of Women online and Offline. We will also Celebrate Women's Day in Anambra State.

2. Describe your main approaches or strategies to achieve these changes and why you think they will be effective.

We will apply these strategies to achieve the Visibility of Women a. Outreach: we will start by creating awareness in the cities of Anambra, introducing the open knowledge movement to them. Also there will be outreach on the social media.


b.Recruit New Editors:We will source new editors Who will continue to contribute to Wikimedia projects.



c.Safety:We will invest a welcoming environment that addresses harassment so as to properly guide and follow up the new comers.



d. Training: we will train participants on basics of editing Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects.A training involving experienced editors and newcomers shared in groups.This method will help them identify gaps on Content and Gender and take boldness to fill them.


e. Capacity/Knowledge building:We will build the knowledge of the participants recruited on how to access and engage in the Wikimedia platforms.


f. Edit-a-thons: We will organize Edit a thons for practicals to access our participants.We will open a dashboard for assessing participants participation.



g. Constant Mentorship: We will continue with attending to questions from the participants whichever area that has been an issue both online and Offline.


Meet-Ups: We will not end the training,we will organize meet ups after the trainings and Edit-a-thon. We will also send resources as guidelines because supports increases retention.

With these approaches we will achieve and build strong Wikimedians and Wikimedia Networks in the states
3. What are the activities you will be developing and delivering as part of these approaches or strategies?

a. Creating Awareness :In a week before the training we will go for awareness on Arts and Feminism..We will create awareness on the need for Women Visibility. Through this we will recruit New members.



Training:We will give Vivid training on five pillars of Wikipedia especially the issue of NPOV ,editing, adding Citations, creating Contents and use of some tools to source information about Women on the first day. The second day will be on other Wikimedia projects and recap on Editing Wikipedia.Participants having learnt how they can fill the gap will increase articles about Women.We will List Articles that needs improvement.



Edit a thon The Edit a thon will commence on the 4th day and Last throughout the month with follow up. participants having identified the gap to fill, will contribute to the sum of human knowledge,thereby filling gender, content and language gap. We will try as much as possible to engage participants in the practical aspect of Wikimedia .

Akwugo -Project lead and Organizer Who will be facilitating on Editing the Igbo and the English Wikipedia.She is an Experienced Wikimedian who loves Contributing to access to open knowledge.


Ngostary2k- She is a certified Librarian and the President Wikimedia Anambra Network.She will be the Facilitating on Editing Wikipedia and Wikidata.She is a Certified Wikimedia Trainer of Reading wikipedia in the Classroom and a WikiAfLibs Alumni. She is an experienced Wikimedian. She belongs to Nigerian Wikimedia Group; Ig Wikimedia User Group, GLAM. Ngozi is passionate about adding reliable and verifiable sources on Wikipedia.



Iwuala Lucy- The team leader -Ig Wiki fan Club,Alvan Ikoku College of Education. She is the Facilitator 3 facilitating the Wikimedia Commons.She loves contributing to the digitization of indigenous languages.


Ennydavids: A volunteer Wikimedian , Igbo Wikimedians User group and Wikimedia User group Nigeria and the Facilitator 4 who will facilitate on wikiquote and help in training Equipments.


Timzy D'Great: A Wikimedian experienced both in the English and Igbo Wikimedia projects he will facilitate on the Igbo wikiquote and assist in the English Wikipedia training.A Member of the Igbo Wikimedians User group, Wikimedia User group Nigeria and one of the project lead of Anambra Network.


Senate Choko:A volunteer Wikimedian that will assist on Project Administrations like creating account and how to navigate with mobile phone.He is a member of the Igbo Wikimedians User group, Wikimedia User group Nigeria.

The projects will address knowledge inequity by creating reliable contents about Women in Arts and improve the existing ones.This will be achieved by training participants to identify these gaps, develop contents about Women and also develop wikipedia contents in languages other than English.

We will create safe and Welcoming Environment.We will always abide by the Universal Code of Conduct and Friendly Space Policy. We will explain these and inform participants before we start any event. We will also distribute copies of the Safe and Brave Policy of Art+Feminism the Universal code of conduct
