Part 1 Understanding your work edit

1. Briefly describe how your proposed activities and strategies were implemented

I'd say the most successful part of this project was the amount of awareness we were able to create about the African culture.

We organized a physical meetup in each community I.e Yoruba, Igbo and English community.

We trained and recruited over 15 new editors for the Wikimedia Community.

We had a session called ``#myexperience as an African``, which was an enlighten moment for us all.

2. Were there any strategies or approaches that you felt were effective in achieving your goals? Please describe these strategies and approaches.

The first was the ``#myexperience as an African``, it was a strategy used to make participants understand why they need to contribute to Africa related articles on Wikipedia and also contribute to the free knowledge platform.

We had a physical event which brought editors from differs background together to build a strong community of free knowledge platform contributors.

3. Please use this space to upload media and other files that help tell your story and impact.

Our efforts during the Fund period have helped to...
A. Bring in participants from underrepresented groups Agree
B. Create a more inclusive and connected culture in our community Agree
C. Develop content about underrepresented topics/groups Agree
D. Develop content from underrepresented perspectives Agree
E. Encourage the retention of editors Agree
F. Encourage the retention of organizers Agree

5. Is there anything else you would like to share about how your efforts helped to bring in participants and/or build out content, particularly for underrepresented groups?

N/A

Part 2: Your main learning edit

6. In your application, you outlined your learning priorities. What did you learn about these areas during this period?

I was able to learn more about the necessity of Africa related articles on Wikipedia and it's sister projects.

I have also been able to introduce more people to Wikipedia and its sister projects, which they have all joined the Wikimedia community in Nigeria.

7. Did anything unexpected or surprising happen when implementing your activities? This can include both positive and negative situations. What did you learn from those experiences?

We had a number of unexpected events that occurred during the planning of the project.

The first was that all the communities could not hold their event within the allocated time which resulted to late report from the local coordinator to me.

The second was that we had always been having internet connection problem and IP ban always but this time we didn't have any issue as such.

Another was that we had more female participants than the male participants which we are really delighted.

8. How do you hope to use this learning? For instance, do you have any new priorities, ideas for activities, or goals for the future?

I will use this knowledge to first understand equip myself and also enhance my project management skill.

I also share this knowledge with my community members so we can all grow together and make Africa a better place.

9. Documentation of resources: Use this space to upload any documents that would be useful to share with others (e.g. communications material, training material, presentations).
