My role is to provide guidance and support to the intending Wikimedians of the Gambia. Mobilise participants to participate in international trainings and contribute to Wikimedia's projects .This will further the cause of the Wikimedia's mission in the Gambia. This project will serve as our inaugural project.

Empowering Gambian filmmakers by amplifying their presence on Wikipedia, Wikidata and Wiki Commons. Most Gambians actors and actresses are not documented on Wikipedia and Wikidata, thus mobilizing intending Wikimedians to contribute to these Wiki platforms will help fill this gap and create more visibility and recognition globally. The Gambia has a rich cultural heritage, documenting Gambians films makers, actors and films on these platforms will help in safeguarding this cultural legacy for our future generation. This can further facilitate networking and collaboration within the global film community. We would conduct trainings both online and in person to engage participants to make their contributions.

Our main activities includes:

Mobilize participants to participate in international trainings; Organize local training for participants to make meaningful contributions to Wikipedia, Wikidata and Wiki Commons. Award ceremony for the top three participants.

Target participants: the university community ( staff, students and lecturers) and the Gambia national center for Arts and culture. As an academic librarian, we will collaborate with colleagues librarians and information professionals . We will engage participants by conducting training both online and in person, where everyone will be free to ask questions where possible. Mobilise participants to participate in international training. We will utilize popular social media platforms like Facebook, twitter, Instagram to share information and updates. These platforms allow you to reach a wide audience and engage with users through comments, and shares. Participants will be required to give feedback through our whats up and Telegram groups.
