As a female activist who is also an editor and the first female Administrator (https://ha.wiktionary.org/wiki/Musamman:ActiveUsers?username=&wpFormIdentifier=specialactiveusers) of Hausa Wikipedia, luckily to have discovered Wiktionary, I feel obliged to premier the first "Inclusive Wiktionary Initiatives: Championing Gender Parity" serving the cycle theme of "Wiki Loves Women" that will be carried out by females editors with few males for raising and inspiring the emergence of active advocates champions of Wiktionary and Wikipedia at large to aids in changing the stats of the females Editors/contributors.

The change we are aiming is to enrich the Hausa Wiktionary with a comprehensive lexicon of words and terms related to "Gender Equality" which are currently missing:

https://ha.wiktionary.org/wiki/Special:AllPages

The main problems we are trying to solved are:

1. Issues of limited Vocabulary: The Hausa language lack a diverse vocabulary related to gender equality, making it challenging to discuss and address gender-related issues effectively.

2. Cultural Awareness: Introducing words and terms related to gender equality in Hausa may require careful consideration of cultural meaning and responses to ensure acceptance and understanding within the community.

To address these challenges and achieve our goals, we will be implementing the following approaches:

1. Lexicon Expansion: We will categorized a comprehensive list of words and terms related to gender equality in Hausa, including their pronunciations to avoid homographic effects.

2. Community Engagement: We will engage with the Hausa-speaking communities, including female student activists, Hausa department students of the "Faculty of Languages" Kaduna State University (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaduna_State_University) and native speakers, to gather input and feedback on proposed words and terms.

3. Language Control: We will work towards standardizing the usage and spelling of gender equality-related terms in Hausa Wiktionary to ensure consistency and accuracy in definitions and usage examples.

4. Promotion and Awareness: We will raise awareness about the importance of gender equality vocabulary in Hausa and promote the use of the expanded lexicon within the community. This will involve educational campaigns in tertiary institutions. Some of the words we will be focusing on are "Gender Equality Related Words", as seen in the link below:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1m7HV7V5qrEQurtxAFcrVyUmj1BsmWyjP/edit?usp=drivesdk&ouid=108153995667645348119&rtpof=true&sd=true

We aim to write appropriate definitions from (dictionaries), upload audio pronunciation using the (OGG, FLAC, AAC formats), referenced these words and attach them to the appropriate word category created:

https://ha.wiktionary.org/wiki/Category:Kalmomi_Masu_Ala%C6%99a_da_Daidaiton_Jinsi

This will not only provide users with a clearer understanding of the pronunciation but also ensure that all meanings and pronunciations are accessible, reducing confusion and improving the overall quality of the Hausa Wiktionary and balance the "gender equality" misunderstood perspective. Below is a clear illustrations of what we plan to do for each word:

https://ha.wiktionary.org/wiki/Zubar_da_ciki

By implementing these approaches, we aim to enhance the Hausa Wiktionary with a robust collection of words and terms related to gender equality, empowering users (females and males) to engage in meaningful discussions and advocacy efforts to promote gender parity and social justice in Hausa-speaking communities that might be worthy of imitation in other communities.

7. What are the planned activities? (required) Please provide a list of main activities. You can also add a link to the public page for your project where details about your project can be found. Alternatively, you can upload a timeline document. When the activities include partnerships, include details about your partners and planned partnerships.

We are committed to fostering community involvement and launching innovative Wikimedia projects focused on educational equality. This includes expanding on the achievements of community contributors who played a vital role in improving Wikipedia in Hausa Wiktionary, by offering impartial definitions of words and phrases pertaining to gender equality. To achieve this, we are arranging a series of in-person refresher trainings/meet-up that will actively involve a dedicated community of gender enthusiasts from the parent bodies of Wiktionary,

https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wiktionary/Tremendous_Wiktionary_User_Group

These workshops which will be both physical and virtual, designed to equip participants with Wikimedia projects and provide essential training. The project will run for a period of 3 month to re-introduce Wiktionary, Wikicommons and how to convert audio files into acceptable formats of "Ogg", "Flac", and "Aac" and connect them to Wiktionary category created:

https://ha.wiktionary.org/wiki/Category:Kalmomi_Masu_Ala%C6%99a_da_Daidaiton_Jinsi

Additionally, we have planned to schedule online events to facilitate project interactions, to provide insights into upcoming developments, and offer assistance. The scheduled is for us to carry out assignment/task, participate in online training and participate in virtual events. Mentorship and support will also be provided to community members through team leaders who will guide and assist them in contributing efficiently to Hausa Wiktionary using available resources.

Finally, we shall organize a contest, which will cover two Wikimedia projects referred to in this proposal i.e Wiktionary, Wikimedia Commons.
