The challenges my group are trying to solve include the following Digitization and storage problems By digitization of these works, the group will be solving the problem of no digitization which was a dominant problem at the time when these drawings were made, it affected the lifespan of these drawings as storage was a major challenge, even at this present time when digitizing firms are everywhere custodians of this drawings still finds it a little difficult to digitize these drawings. Information gap The information gap when it comes to studying Nigerian architecture, philosophies, concepts and methods of construction of iconic and historic buildings is wide because the information about them was not put out there when the buildings were designed. Information about the architects who designed such buildings that have formed the pillar of Nigerian architecture is difficult to get much more there buildings, compared to the availability of information on architects from other parts of the world, this information gap has made it difficult for researchers, students and the general public to make any valid deductions as to why the certain things on certain buildings are done the way they were done, the names and works of these great architects are nowhere to be found on the world map because information about their works has not been put out there. Educational research difficulty based on the unavailability of information This challenge is a product of the first, many researchers, especially those involved in Nigerian pre-historic architecture face the challenge of little or no information which in turn causes them to have difficulty in carrying out their research successfully. If this information is put out there it will help researchers, research students, students and the general public carry out relevant studies on these works and help improve the practice of architecture in the country. Curriculum flaws in schools of architecture One of the challenges is evident in schools of architecture across the country. In schools of architecture, the history of architecture in Nigeria is not in the curriculum, since the architects who started the profession of Architecture after the era of colonialism don’t have their works saved on any digital platform, hence in schools of architecture students are thought about foreign architects, their works, their philosophies, their concepts, materiality employed in their designs and the methods of construction used. If the works of these architects are digitized and put out there it can help schools of architecture update their curriculum and put in the designs of indigenous architects in their scheme to help students better understand indigenous architecture and how it can be incorporated into modern technological innovations that are present in the country. Underrepresentation of architects and their works The underrepresentation of Nigerian architects and their work is a challenge my group is trying to solve, the group wants the works of great architects who have lived and practiced in Nigeria to be seen globally to give them the much-needed global relevance they deserve and not allow their works to continue lying waste and rotting wherever they are preserved. Inequity The number of works of Nigerian architects that are available to the general public from the first generation of architects is zero, and that for other regions and certain western regions is above the roof so the group wants to solve the challenge of inequity by striking a balance in the availability of this drawings putting them out there and giving them a chance to shine and thrive in their black excellence and not letting their works die naturally. How alliance with Wikimedia help address these challenges Through the funding from the grant Alliance with Wikimedia will help address the challenge of digitization seeing that most custodians of these drawings find it difficult to do the digitizing because of the cost that will be incurred in the process, If the cost is accounted for the custodians of the drawings will be willing to release the drawing for digitizing. Through the open access policy for information and knowledge dissemination The open access policy of Wikimedia will see to it that this information reaches everyone who needs it at no cost and that will help the group achieve its aim of making information available to the public. Through the online storage of these files Wikimedia online platforms are a good place to store and archive this information considering how big and extensive its storage capacity is going by the amount of information via its various arms. So, an alliance with Wikimedia assures the team of a safe online archive and easy access to the digitized materials and files for the general public Through unhindered access to Wikimedia support materials. An alliance with Wikimedia will give the team access to Wikimedia support, and questions that may arise during the process will be answered by the Wikimedia team as support to the team in ensuring a smooth and quick flow of work during the process of curating, digitizing and archiving. The main objective of the proposal is to curate, digitize and archive the works of 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation architects in Nigeria making them available online and within reach to everyone who may want to use them from the 1st Jan 2024, either for academics, future research and other related learning purposes for the general public. The objectives are to; a. curate the drawings of 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation architects in Nigeria. b. Digitize 10,000 drawings of 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation architects in Nigeria and make them available for use by all. c. Archive the drawings of 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation architects in Nigeria to enhance their durability, longevity and sustainability. d. Get documentaries of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation architects to further explain their persons on a more experiential basis.

my target participants Students This is one of the target participants as they will turn out to be the major beneficiaries of the information after researchers, One strategy used to retain participants will be campus tours across different campuses, with a primary focus on the theme digitization, curation and archival of works of architecture, students design competitions and students edit-a-thon. The students will be included when the publicity for the proposal is to be done seeing that they are the highest users of social media it will help go a long way in the dissemination of information about the project, criteria for being a student participant in the course of the work is being a full time or part-time student in any accredited institution in the proposal location
Researchers Researchers and research assistants are one of the target audience, they have a level of expertise in the field of Architecture or art curating, documentary and photography, videography and cinematography they understand certain themes that the proposal covers like culture and heritage, and they have experience based on work experience. A strategy to retain them is the provision of grants for similar projects that may need open access, conferences and training to help develop them this will cause them to further stay and support the Wikimedia movement for open knowledge as the skill was gotten from the Wikimedia, researchers will contribute to the proposal by the application of their expertise on the subject of the proposal, criteria for being a researcher contributor to the proposal and criteria to attend events that will be hosted in the course of work is all graduate programme students currently in their second year of study and PhD programme.
Editors The editors are key participants and they sometimes double as the research assistants for this proposal the team will be digitizing 10,000 architectural drawings and based on the volume extra hands will be required on board to get things done even with the edit-a-thon that will be happening in course of the project to support this course, the editor's contribution is mainly in editing articles as it fits wikimedian standards.
Organizers Organizers are key participants, responsible for organizing all activities involved in the proposal, even physical and virtual events, and competitions online and offline etc., A strategy to retain them is keeping them updated on new projects by sending them emails and checking for their availability to render their services, support services and tools sent to them to help them grow this is one practical way to keep them and be sure that they will be willing to support the Wikimedia vision when called upon. The organizers will contribute via the organizing of events both physical and virtual.
Digitization team The digitization team is a participant in the proposal it is a key part of the proposal the team is looking forward to having a digitization station to support the digitization of files that will be used by Wikimedia affiliates when the need arises the approval of funding for the scanning machine if made available will be used as a tool to retain the team and training on digitization for the team is another strategy to retain the team, the digitization team will contribute to the project by helping out with the digitization process based on their expertise in digitization and the criteria to be a participant from the digitizing team is to have worked in any digitization firm in the region where the proposal will be carried out Photographers and Graphic designers This is another participant in the proposal, though paid but vital and key for the proposal and retaining them will be beneficial to the affiliate wikimedian community, A key strategy to retaining them will be through training, photography contests and inclusion in new wikimedian projects, the contribution from the photographers will be taking photographs of the buildings and pictures of the events to be used for publicity of what is been done Architects and Architectural firms These are participants in the proposal as the works to be curated, digitized and archived will be gotten directly or indirectly from them and retaining them is very important Some strategies that will be used to retain them include discounts for digitizing their works, fully paid expense for digitizing old drawings gotten from them. The architects and different firms contribute to the proposal by the supply of information and materials that are required for the digitization process, the criteria for the qualification of participants is full registration with the Nigeria Institute of Architects or registration of firms with the Corporate Affairs Commission

Culture, Heritage and GLAM The proposal presents the digitization of works from Nigeria Architects who come from different parts of the country a region with very rich culture and heritage, and this culture is expressed through the designs of buildings that will be digitized due to this proposal and put out there to allow the general public to understand certain aspects of the culture and heritage of the regions in Nigeria where these architects have lived and worked
Open source technology The proposal aims at making the digitized work available to the general public through open source technology, making the works readily available and also enabling redistribution across various digital platforms, this follows the open access policy of Wikimedia which is in alignment with the proposal Diversity The proposal includes a diversity of architectural works from architects of different backgrounds, Regional diversity also is a key component the way architecture is done in Europe and Asia is different from how it is done in Nigeria, the modus operandi differs greatly and so the proposal includes works from a completely different area which is not generally known and haven’t been studied hence the difference in this region and there varying methods of design and construction will be seen through the proposal.
