The purpose of the event is to strengthen the skills of the user to contribute different Wikimedia Projects and to make community members aware about the Wikimedia movement. Also, this will be the first time opportunity for the Santali community to come together at the same place to meet and greet.

We will be in touch with the participants, review the contributions of the participants. We will conduct periodical online calls to understand the post event difficulties. We will try to provide them with a helping hand by coordination within our community. If required, we’ll try to engage with other affiliates or communities.

Logistical Aspects

Our proposed venue location is in Kolkata (India), The event will be within the 15-20 KM radius of the Railway Station and Airport.

- 23. How many scholarships would you like to offer?
Our scholarships will be limited to approximately 30 participants which will include our Santali Wikimedian and the resource person from India, Bangladesh and Nepal. The number can be increased or decreased after getting the applications from the Santali language volunteers

The scholarship will cover the travel expenses, expenses of the accommodation and food and cost of Internet Data
- 25. How will scholarship recipients be selected?
We have formed a scholarship committee to provide scholarships. The basic of selections will be the best Wikimedia contributors in the last two years. The committee will ensure the substantial female participant to the event. The scholarships will be also reserved for at least two new contributors prior to one year of the event who may not be among the top contributors in the last two years but has significant visible contributions and seems who can lead the community further.
- 26. In which ways can Wikimedia Foundation staff support your event onsite?
Centre for Internet Society Access to Knowledge will be the partner and helping hand for management of the event . We are also collaborating for all the resource persons of the event.

It will depend on the Program, however, it’s not decided yet.

The organizing team has segregated the role and responsibilities among its members like, Event and Sessions Management Team. Scholarship Team, Local Liaison Team (to look after hotel and accommodation), First Aid Team, Team for Hospitality, Communication Team. The coordinator of the team will overall communicate with different teams for smooth function of the conference.

- 28.1. If yes, can you please explain how you are going to co-organize the event and what responsibilities each partner will have.
The community will take an initiative to organize the conference who will be a decision making body and execution will be taken care by community, our co-organizers team or partner will be involved with the event in planning, advisory and provide some logistical support and documentation.
- 29. What kind of risks do you anticipate and how would you mitigate these?
- Generally, during in—person event the community faces internet issue which is highly important for the workshops and training sessions. We will try to find a venue where we will ignore this issue and will go with backup.
- This will be a first community event where all the community members will attend the event, lack of experience in organizing events, we are working with CIS-A2K to support the event and take some responsibilities to ensure that event will fulfilled properly.
- There is also a challenge to invite Wikimedians from the different South Asia countries, we are going to invite a few Santali Wikimedians from Bangladesh and Nepal, we will be in need of support or assistance to deal with this challenge. To deal with this, we will reach out some conference organisers too to understand the process.

We will come out with a stronger Wikipedia contributor. The participant will have the expertise to explore the resources and tools available in the different Wikimedia projects. We will have quality control over articles, vandalism. The community desire to live on Wiktionary and Wikisource. We anticipate there will be an active contribution in this incubator project. There will be more collaborative and collective effort to share the free knowledge to the world.
