GCC is a journey to recognise and award talent that can build solutions to some of the most pressing cybersecurity problems faced by society today. The challenge is critically divided into three tracks to ensure all keen aspects of cyberspace are covered.
- 14. Based on survey responses, what are the most important things your community should do at the conference to achieve these objectives?
To achieve cyber peace, the community should prioritise digital literacy, foster collaboration, implement strong cybersecurity measures, promote ethical practices, strengthen collaboration with law enforcement, establish support systems, engage youth and community organisations, foster international cooperation, and continuously evaluate and update practices. These actions will help educate individuals, build partnerships, enhance security measures, encourage responsible behavior, hold cybercriminals accountable, provide support for victims, empower youth, foster global collaboration, and ensure ongoing resilience against evolving threats.

The event is a gateway to presentation of various tech based solutions and policies, which are taken to be implemented at national and international level to give the winner a more hands on experience. Our winners contribute to various Govt as well as corporate projects which result in a rise in awareness and knowledge of the population at large.

- 29. What kind of risks do you anticipate and how would you mitigate these?
Organizing the Global CyberPeace Challenge could potentially face several risks that could affect its successful implementation. Some of these risks include:
Cybersecurity Risks: Given that the Challenge is centered around cybersecurity, there could be a risk of cyberattacks aimed at disrupting the Challenge or stealing sensitive information. Mitigation: Robust cybersecurity measures would need to be put in place to ensure that the Challenge is secure. This could include encryption of data, penetration testing of systems, and regular security audits.
Funding Risks: The Challenge would require significant funding to be successful, and there could be a risk of insufficient funding or budget cuts that could affect the implementation of the Challenge. Mitigation: It would be necessary to identify multiple sources of funding, including private sector partners, government grants, and crowdfunding. Developing a detailed budget plan and contingency measures to cope with potential funding shortfalls would also be essential.
Regulatory Risks: Given the international nature of the Challenge, there could be regulatory risks associated with differences in laws and regulations across different countries and regions. Mitigation: Careful planning and collaboration with local partners and regulatory bodies would be necessary to ensure that the Challenge complies with all relevant laws and regulations. Developing a detailed legal framework and consulting with legal experts would also be important.
Governance/Leadership Risks: Changes in leadership or governance structures could have an impact on the implementation and success of the Challenge. Mitigation: Developing a robust governance structure that is flexible enough to adapt to changes in leadership or personnel would be necessary. This could involve appointing a steering committee or board of advisors to oversee the Challenge's implementation and ensure continuity.
